CPU/Mobo Intel Core i7 3820 vs 4770k

Hi,
I'm extremely confused among the two. Please suggest me what to do? Let me pour in some of my thoughts for both of them :
3820
Pros:
LGA2011 socket which will receive further upgrades
More cache memory
4 channel memory
Can overclock to 4.8 on air cooling
Cons:
2nd gen processor
Unsure if it really gets an upgrade in future

4770k
Pros:
Latest released
New LGA1150 socket
4th gen processor
Cons:
Less cache memory
Less overclockability
Lastest, so fear that price will drop soon.

PS : If anyone wanna sell 3930k, then pm me. :p

Depends on what you want . If its more computing power and you are willing to pay then go for the 2011 ie a 3930k .

But my budget for combo is around 30-32k, so I can afford 3930k used only. Leaving that aside, what should I get for that budget? 3820 or 4770k? Since it would run mostly on overclocked speed with cooler master v6gt.

LGA2011 is overall an expensive platform but it has it's advantages like much better overclocking potential since it has much better chip then 3770k and 4770k.

It has more cache so if you do work that can benefit these extra features then only it makes sense to go with the platform else save money or invest the same on better cooling for the 4770k.

Go for haswell or IB and not for the 2011 . Mayank 30k on processor and almost 17-18k on a good Motherboard. For this much you can get IB/HW Motherboard,Processor,RAM and still save some from it.[DOUBLEPOST=1371312970][/DOUBLEPOST]Somehow the HW is a bit overpriced and offered just not that enough prowness than the IB .

Now HW 4770k costs - 25250 on FK , IB 3770k costs - 19363 again on FK . [FK - Flipkart]
HW 4670k costs - 18900 and 3570k costs 15533 .

Haswell is expensive and i dont see there would be any price drops for Ivy Bridge in the near future. Go for the 1155 Socket, ASUS-MSI-GIGABYTE have good Motherboards.

How would be like getting 3820 with 2011 motherboard? Is it better than HW? I'm skipping out 3930K for sure. So only 2 things are in front of me : 3820 or 4770k? I'll be definitely running them in overclocked mode, hence want to know which one out of 2 is suitable for me? Or should I wait for a month and see any new introduction to HW series.

So according to you I should go with 3820? As I already told, I'll be using it overclocked. Gaming would be main purpose for the same. Does 2011 has sure shot better future than HW?

No, as gaming is your main purpose i suggest you just get i5-4670k blindly. Anything above this is not gonna benefit in gaming.

With rest of shillings get gtx 770 and you are set.

Yeah, dont got for the 2011 since major objective here would be gaming. Go for 3570k/3770k/4670k and overclock them. Rest you could invest in an oc`ed GTX 770 or a vanilla GTX 780.
