Folks,

I have Intel D410PT, which suddenly stopped booting yesterday night. At that instant, I had switched on UPS first, noticing that its shouting, I switched on the mains. However the PC never boot.

I tried following:
  • Remove everything from the motherboard including CMOS battery, after some time put back battery, plugin power and keyboard, it boots.
  • Next I added HD to the connection, it boot well.
  • NExt I packed everything, but the thing didn't boot.

Any clue whats messing?

^^ Hmm I am not sure, however I never faced electric shock. So probably thats ok.

Also, it seems whenever I attach the SATA power to HDD, the system won't boot. Some issue with the power supply?

The system is now stable without HDD attached through SATA. Its boots again and again without any issue.

@Prole73,

The SMPS is something chinese stuff that came with iBall Net Top 009. Although its in warranty, I am having my own reservation about its quality. Got it cheap for about 1.2k. Hence I would like to put in some quality stuff. Anyideas as what I can use for replacement? BTW I love the form factor of Net top hence bought it, even with it elcheapo smps.
