According to latest rumor , Intel will launch its next generation 8- series chipset in April 2013 .
Digitimes got information from motherboard manufacturers which pointed out that Intel will release its Haswell based processors and its 8 series chipsets in April 2013 , just 1 year after the launch of Ivy Bridge in April 2012 . If this is true , Ivy bridge will have the shortest lifecycle in recent years .
Haswell will be based on 22nm process with improved architecture and it will have new LGA 1150 socket which is not backward compatible with current LGA1155 . Users will require 8 series motherboards to use the Haswell processors . H87 and Z87 will replace current Z77 , H 77 and Z75 chipsets in April 2013 and budget H61 chipset will arrive in June 2013 .
