A Canadian retailer is listing Intel's upcoming Core i3 530 for $152.

The processor is clocked at 2993MHz, has 2 x 256Kb of L2 cache and 4MB of L3, 733MHz graphics and a 22x multiplier. Of course, it's an LGA 1156 part, but at 73W its TDP is rather high for a 32nm processor.

Bear in mind that this is the slowest Core i3 Intel plans to launch. The rest of the series will feature higher clocks in both the CPU and graphics department, as well as hyperthreading and Turbo features.

All in all, the 530 and 540 don't really look all that appealing. They will cost €85/$125 and €95/$145 respectively, so they're not very cheap either. Consumers looking for affordable processors should probably stick to older 45nm parts. (Or just buy an AMD. sub.ed.)

It has a higher TDP coz it also haz a 45nm integrated IGP :P So no IGP in the mobo. So the compensation will happen there i guess

Yeah you are right there.

Coz these cores i3 , core i5 32nm with 45nm IGP cannot run on P55 boards to take use of their IGP

They will run on H55 chipsets

And there is always the Pentium G as usual. Same Clarkdale architecture but a pentium tag name which is expected to be priced for $87. Cheaper than the AMD PhenomII 550BE :P So i guess mainstream PC's have that option :D

integrated gfx in CPU :O

any news on how these CPU IGP fare against the current intel/ati IGP/GPU?

And ya early bechmarks say this IGP is atleast 2 times better than the G45 and about 60-70% performance of the 9400. Pretty good news that :D

I am waiting for the launch of intel's latest "E2140/E5200 type" VFM cpus :baby:

Unfortunately Core i5 530 is Intel's latest E2140/E5200 type VFM cpus :(

Unfortunately bro , Core i5 530 is the slowest and cheapest 32nm Core i3 that'll be ever created by Intel

Obviously it will become mainstream if and only if H57 socket is dead cheap and price cut of Core i5 530

I really wanted Intel to launch larabee (what ever the spelling was) so that would kill some funds on their side...this is just plain arrogant ....
