Intel's New Mini Computer- NUC Measuring 10 cm square

Intel is entering into the mini-computer game which is dominated by players like Raspberry Pi , FXI etc . They have introduced a mini computer measuring just 10x10cm which is powered by Sandy Bridge i5 or i3 processor .

They call it NUC or Next Unit of Computing . Intel demoed it at PAX East in April , but the details have emerged on the web now .

The board packing an i3 or i5 processor will also have 2 SODIMM RAM slots , 2 mini PCIe headers , HDMI , USB 3.0 and thunderbolt connectivity .

These specifications are enough to say that it will be much powerful and capable than the smaller Raspberry Pi .

It could prove to be a promising mini-desktop , but Intel envisions it to be used at kiosks and under TV applications . Its expected in second half of 2012 .

This I like, competition. The thing is how competitively Intel prices them and the availability.

Interesting !

The Mini computer market will pop out of nowhere if they price it correctly.

One more thing that I would be interested to know is how much power does this piece of Tech consume at full & normal loads.

this is without a doubt the future.intel should be looking into something like this,and alas they are the best ones to pull it off.

$ 100 ¡ ¿ ¡

Most of the RasPi's will become orphans in transit if their buyers are ready to spend the extra buck for performance.

Sounds too good to be true but let's wait n watch.
