Internet does not work in applications

I have started using internet on my mobile for a few days now and everything has been working fine except the fact that I have to only use the native browser.

From this I mean that I have to use the default web browser provided by Nokia. None of the applications which I download from the internet or from my PC can connect to the internet. They say please check internet settings.

I have tried Opera, Facebook and Gmail.

At first I thought maybe the default connection is not Airtel Live I went and made Airtel Live default in Settings, but to no avail.

Help would be appreciated.

As Konquerror pointed out, you need a different plan for the Internet based apps. to work, as they (operator) require to go through a different access point/portal.

HOWEVER, there is a h@ck (configuration file) you can make use of, to tap the standard Airtel Live connection for the apps.The usual download charges are applicable though.
 
^^ theres no such thing as hack needed....lol lol

u just need to leave the proxy sever ip address setting blank

Proxy server IP in my connection settings ?
 
Well you can see 3 settings in your mobile...Airtel Live, MMS and Airtel Mobile Office. Simply choose mobile office as default connection and all your apps would work. Only thing is that charges may be different for Airtel Live and Airtel Mobile Office. Check with operator for detailed info.
 
Can anyone tell me about the hack so that I can use Airtel Live.

Also if I get the Rs. 98 recharge to get free 2GB of data tranfer will I be not able tto use internet on apps ?
