First of Pls dont start a Firefox vs IE Debate here.
Just wanted to share that Preview version of IE 9 is available for download officially from here
Platforms demos are shown in the link provided and I m amazed with all the features.

The page is very much there. I am going through the features now and then will checkout the tests.

Thanks mate. although, I dont think I will give up my FF yet.
 
lol. i was seeing some demos of html5 in ff and saw usage go to >55% with just some plain text being rendered or scrolled. :lol: i'm laughing at those who say html5 is the future. it won't go mainstream till power sipping 5 GHz dual core comps become common.
 
^ Compatibility mode is a +ve feature in IE8, and not a bug. There are millions of pages out there which don't follow any standard, and have been designed based upon IE6. Therefore, IE8 or most modern browsers wouldn't display them properly. The compatibility mode option allows IE8 to use a 'less stricter' parser to display such pages. I am not sure if they switch internally to the IE6 engine in such cases though.
