well i am facing a unusual problem for the last two weeks...i got a tata broadband connection...its like my net is working for 30-45mins or at times more then a hour and then suddenly the page cannot be displayed...but the files i am downloading in the torrents are still being downloaded...i am able to connect to the wifi by my mobile and its working...
its just the sites stops from opening in my laptop and then i got to restart laptop and it gets all fine...
so its like i got to restart every time once a hour atleast...can someone tell me what the problem is..i am pretty noob  in all this so would be good if you explain or try helping me keeping that in mind:ohyeah:

Reset all the settings.Does it happen with all sites or only secure sites ? Either reinstall the current browser or switch over to a different one.

well used three browsers...firefox,Chrome and explorer...faced with all the same thing...
uninstalled and installed all the browsers, but no use
happening with all sites...tried the lan card option also
cant be a virus because i got a anti virus installed...
plus as i said i can browse through my mobile if i connect to the wifi at that time, the download in torrent and Rapid go on,any download that is on that time stays fine...just that the browsers in my laptop stop working...and as soon i restart its completely fine...i got xp professional installed mentioning it also...
plus one more thing...i use anti spy of yahoo toolbar also..and there is a particular tracking cookie that always i get whenver i scan my system...i am mentioning this because i do net banking and many secure work from my system and lately whenever i am opening a site through google search suppose a bank site,i get redirected somewhere else...but sometimes its works fine...
sorry its a bit lengthy thing here but i tried to explain all things clearly as i could

Run a good AV scan. Run registry scanning tool. <- This should solve your problem. If you are not able to fix it but you get the name of the virus/malware from any tool, google the name to find the solution. :)

Webroot Spysweeper or Sunbelt Counterspy would be your best bet before a format reinstall. The steps below may help you avoid any of the former.Just try them in the order below. :)

1. - Run ->Type msconfig -> startup tab -> disable all -> reboot -> check whether any of the processes is checked in the startup tab.

2. - Delete everything from these locations. You might need to unhide system files -
C:\Documents and Settings\"Current Username or Your Username"\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\"Current Username or Your Username"\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

3. - Download Hijack This here & paste the log file below.Do not remove anything on your own if you dunno what it is.Wait for our reply.

4. - Delete the host file located here - C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc

5. - Download & run Regvac.Optional but great utility to clean up leftover garbage from registry without causing problems.

Try scanning ur computer with a good antispyware like
maleware bytes antiware or counterspy antispyware

Malwarebytes.org

Antispyware Software - Download a Trial of CounterSpy Antispyware Today!

downloaded both the programs...and installed
the first one malware, after installing when i am starting it up its not running..tried twice install and re install but even after clicking its not openin
the 2nd one after installing and trying to start scan ,it gives me a error cannot scan since no risk definition there..update risk definition..but when i am trying to update..its giving a mesage update failed

@winter ..buddy the thing you mentioned went all above my head... :S i wanted something simple like a program i run it and its solves all :ohyeah:
btw i got quickheal anti virus installed and it working fine and never shows any virus etc in scans

^^sTRANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANYWAYS For CounterSpy i got alternative solution

Go to this link and select the latest definition with ur installed language

Antispyware Software - Download a Trial of CounterSpy Antispyware Today!
To manually install one of these CounterSpy definition files, please follow these steps:

1. Download the most recent definition file for your language using the download link to your computer

2. Open CounterSpy (right-click on the tray icon or double-click on the shortcut put on your desktop)

3. From the main menu, select "File" and choose "Settings..."

4. In the "Update Now" section, choose "Browse"

5. Navigate to where you downloaded the file

6. Select the file you downloaded and the installation will proceed automatically.....
Now try scanning it .........It must scan now ..Happy troubleshooting

You can also use Spybot Search and Destroy too.

I suggest you uninstall Yahoo AntiSPY since it is totally crap. In my system, it detects utorrent as a Trojan. Again since I have immunized my browser using Spybot Search and Destroy, it shows those immunization attempts as Trojans and Hijackers.

No problem man.I was gonna give you steps to flush the DNS cache but I dropped it :ohyeah: Go through the the steps stated by techfreak. They're very easy to follow even if you aren't a techie.Just try.If they don't help then let us know.Otherwise download Webroot Spy Sweeper here ,install it & run it.Most steps are similar.Uninstall that Yahoo toolbar or any other toolbar that you might notice & go for a good antivirus like Bit Defender.

@techfreak..thanks buddy downloading the update and will then scan and post here what happened

@hotshot05..yea uninstalled it..its show utorrent as a trojan to me also...its pretty dumb i guess

@Winter...well i got quickheal...is it bad? the anti virus and spy sweeper you suggested should i go for them? i mean its better then something i am using you sure of that buddy

Bit Defender is the best I've ever come across & there are tons of reviews to support it.Even Kaspersky is good.I've never used Quick Heal but if it's one of those Indian anti-viruses installed by your computer engineer free of cost then remove it instantly. It won't help much.Spy Sweeper & Counter Spy are equally good.

Take a look at ComboFix too. It's free & effective.Check this page. They've shown screenshots to help non-techie people.

well i bought quickheal and not installed by my local computer engineer :ohyeah: now dont tell me it was a bad purchase
bitdefender which version you are suggesting let me know..i saw three versions there...
yea counterspy i am still downloading the update and will install and see how it goess...as for spy sweeper if its good as you say then surely will try it out..
actually i use net for a whole lot of things like banking,my official business work, online purchases etc so i really want my laptop to be secure cant risk of anything and if its good i can surely buy it ...

well downloaded CounterSpy definition files and updated my counter spy...ran all three scans that was there (to be really sure :ohyeah: )
result- found a trojan with traces at three places...so i quarantined it...did it right?

after doing that my browser is working till now fine ..been 30 mins and not got disconnected till now...
plus tried opening my banking sites and i got where i was supposed to go,not getting misdirected to somewhere else...

the reason i started my thread was that browser getting disconnected and getting redirected to different sites..so atleast for the redirection part is solved...the disconnection part i will wait a day more to see if its perfectly ok...and will update again ..plus ask you all the next course of action...and yea...thanx buddies for being so patient and reading through my long lectures :ohyeah:

Cool.Go for Bit Defender Antivirus 2009.Bit Defender 10 is free except that you have to do everything manually.Hope the disconnection issue is solved as well. :hap2:

thanx a lot guys:thanks!: ..you been really good...
everything working fine..browser,not getting disconnected,or redirected...
now i got qucikheal till sept paid up...
so should i go for bit defender anti virus and counter spy now...imean buy it right now?
please give me suggestions...what will be the best anti virus and anti spy...seperate for both,or a one solution?

No need to buy anything. The free version of Bit Defender is better than Quick Heal any day & has a decent inbuilt Anti-Spyware except that all scanning has to be done manually which isn't really a big PITA.But instead of worrying about good protection, just be cautious.Like not clicking just any link sent to you, following pop-up messages or visiting P**n or Warez sites, downloading cracks or keygens, downloading softwares with no reviews or information on the net, not visiting sites that google flags as harmful etc.Prevention is always better than cure.Best Of Luck :hap2:
