I have a Tata Indicom unlimited connection at my home with a ZyXel P-600 Modem/Router installed.

The problem is that the internet works fine, but in sessions. For example , it will work for hours n hours if I am just downloading stuff from utorrents, but as soon as I close it and try to browse the internet stops responding. I have to change my local IP for it to start working again.

Then again if I am playing some game online, it will work fine but randomly stops after the termination of that session.

This does not happen on my dads laptop which also access it via WiFi.

I am using the stupid DNS servers given by Tata . Can it be because of that ?

The router is in the mode in which the internet is always dialed ( Non-Dialer Setup)

Hi,

I would ask a few questions,

1. Have u tried pinging the servers non-stop and has it stopped then while its pinging?

2. Have u scanned the pc for any infections? reccon u to use malwarebytes anti-malware

3. Try changing the DNS and try the google DNS server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

4. Any firewall installed on this pc?

5. Have u tried resetting the router by holding the reset button for 10 secs and re-configuring it? Does this only happen on WI-FI? Do u have a wired router which u can try?

Pls try answer these questions so one can better understand the issue
