iOS 6 Could Drop Support For Original iPad , 3rd Gen iPod Touch

wddc2.jpg

Apple usually does not drop iOS support for older generation devices , but this is rumored fate of the original iPad or third generation iPod Touch .

Apple will unveil the iOS 6 at WDDC event today , in which the above two devices will be excluded from the support , according to a post at WeiPhone forum that has purported releases of full developer version of iOS 6 and OSX 10.8 .
The iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 3GS, as well as the fourth-generation iPod and both versions of Apple TV are in the list of supported devices .

However, it's possible that the forum list is incomplete or that Apple hasn't generated links for the devices. Clicking on the existing links provided yields only a message that the session has expired.

I read somewhere that 3GS is included. And if it is true then i would really appreciate apple for supporting even a 3 year old phone (correct ???)

I guess it will be available to 3GS coz its not disclosed as stop in production. Wait for couple of hours.

Whatever be it, but no other keynote is as much looked forward to as apple's and it is true in this case also even when most people know (think ??) that next iPhone won't be announced at the event.

iOS 6 is out , the original iPad is not supported , 3GS is there in the list .

The full range of supported devices are: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, new iPad 3 and all iPod touch devices from the fourth generation onwards.

Orignal iPad not being supported was expected really.it is not sold officially anymore and i dont think apple support unsold devices especially the flagship items.

Overall a rocking wwdc and loved every minute watching it.
