Mac OS Ipad 1st Gen - Slow and Sluggish

I has Ipad 1st Gen , 4.3 OS.

Can anyone suggest what might be issue?

Lot of crashes, very sluggish. It is not full to the brim, and I constantly kill the apps. (yes jailbreaked)

If anyone can suggest what OS they are on it would help,

Using an iPad 1 on 5.1.1, excellent performance. Try flashing 5.1.1 and see? JB is out anyway.

Too many cydia tweaks can make ipad sluggish. Upgrade 5.1.1 and see the performance only then jailbreak it.
