iPad 2 or Sony S ?

Guys confused between iPad 2 and Sony S tablet. Will be using it for web surfing,movies and some games. Please suggest me accordingly.

iPad 2. The interface is a breeze; and the sheer volume of good quality games and apps makes it a no-brainer.
 
You will have to decide on which OS you like. iOS is very slick, the app and game repository is huge. AFAIK, the GPU on the iPad 2 is the faster than any other tablet (even Tegra 3, this is Tegra 2) and because of no fragmentation, the quality of games will be undoubtedly better. It will also be supported for a longer time. Case in point, Galaxy Tab (the original one) vs. iPad 1. Samsung has abandoned the Tab with not even a honeycomb update whereas the iPad 1 is running the latest iOS 5.0.1. But the iOS ecosystem is highly closed. you cant change the keyboard for example. the proportion of free apps is much lower than android.

The tablet S does do some clever things like connecting the playstation controller and Sony is also actively planning to release a lot of PS1 games. the back camera is better. it has a 16:9 screen(better for movie watching). Has flash which iPad does not but a lot of popular sites like youtube are moving towards HTML5 so its not a dealbreaker.

So if you want a better OOTB experience, i'd suggest the iPad 2. if you want to tinker a lot with the device and play playstation games, then the Tablet S.
 
Apple is the undisputed king of tablets. Getting an Ipad is a no brainier really. You may dislike the restrictive nature of iOS initially but it will soon grow on you. Also, get the 3g version if you plan to use your Ipad during travels. I made a mistake of getting the Wi-fi only version and now I regret it everytime I am on the move.

If i remember, it had some sort of cool remote control thing + it does not have a 16:9 but 16:10 1280x800 screen.
 
If you are ready to shell out cash for iPad 2, might I mention the upcoming ASUS Transformer Prime.

Don't get me wrong, I am a hardcore iPad fan, but the TF Prime does set a trend among Android tablets.

All boils down to which side you lean towards, iOS or Android.

In my extremely personal opinion, I would want Android on my phone so that I can tinker around as much as I want. But when it comes to media consumption, that is tablets, I want a seamless experience and just want things to work.
 
If you can wait it will be better since ipad 3 is on the way, else get an ipad 2 with eye closed, the IO interface is too good and you won't regret for what you spend on it, also iPad also holds good resale value if you want to get rid of later on

But no one can tell how good an upgrade it will be. The iPhone rumours were off target by a mile.

So don't go by the rumours you hear about iPad 3. Keep that in mind too

OT: If I had the money for an iPad right now, I would be going to sunburn with VIP passes.

Going to Ministry of Sound for NYE so that makes up for Sunburn :)

Guys buying iPad 2 + iPhone 4S and Bold 4/Moto Razr in coming week :D
 
Mostly will be getting the iPad 2 here too. Getting a Chroma voucher for about 25K. Else AMD Fusion awaits ... mu ha ha
 
A 8 month iPad 2(wifi+3g) user bought on its launch date in India from Croma and can't recommend it more
Be it for games, movies,tv shows,music or browsing

Also in terms of colour choice get the black one if you prefer watching lots of movies/videos
