iOS Ipad 3 on 5.1.1 makes sense to upgrade to 6.1.3?

I have a 1gb ipad3 wifi 3g, thats on 5.1.1, should I upgrade to 6.1.3? There are many apps that I want, that needs ios6 and above, also I think the jailbreak is already there for 6.1.3, so would I be able to just download the firmware file and upgrade it through itunes? ( or will I get stuck, since apple has stopped signing that?) Whats the best approach? I am currently jailbroken on 5.1.1

Thanks!

I don't think you will be able to upgrade iPad to ios 6 right now as Apple has stopped signing older version, with iTunes update you will be updated directly to ios 7,and jailbreak is not yet out there for ios 7...

You cannot update to anything except iOS 7 now. I am on 5.1.1 as well on all iDevices and since it works for me, i am staying that way. Especially because of jailbreak.
Yes many new apps don't work for 5.1.1 but i can live with it.

You can update, provided you have saved the shsh blobs for ios 6... If you haven't, then nope.

Cydia usually auto saves them for you, check the top section of cydia app...

this device has never been updated to ios 6 and above, so I guess no ssh blobs :(

Is it possible to install ***** apps on ios 7 without jailbreak?

I think even if SHSH blobs was available, it wouldn't have been possible to go to iOS 6.x.x at least for devices like iPhone 4S/iPad 2/3 and ahead.
That is because of the A5 or 5X whatever chipset.
