The iPad 4 is allegedly scheduled for mid-2013. First details on the display technology it packs is out. Read on for the scoop.

Freshly leaked info points towards a mid-2013 release date for the iPad 4. Honestly, without any leaked info we would still be able to predict the same or confirm about the truth in the rumor as we already know of Apple's yearly product refresh (which they have been doing for years now). What is new is the info leaked on the display technology behind the Apple iPad 4.

First off, the new iPad 4 will most probably pack the same 9.7" display as that of the new iPad (aka iPad 3). What changes is the components, which will be simplified to give the device a simpler manufacturing design. There will be a modification in the number of LED lights being used. According to sources, the new iPad 4 will use two-chip packages for the LED back light units or BLUs (the current generation new iPad packs a one-chip package). The current iPad has 84 LED units, which will be reduced in the iPad 4.

So what do we know about the iPad 4 already?
  • Same 9.7" display
  • Probably launching in Q1 2013

It's too early for more information but we can also speculate more information about the iPad 4.
  • Quad-Core Apple A6
  • 2 GB of RAM (???)
  • Higher rated battery

Keep in mind, these specifications revision are just standard while introducing a next generation product, and hence we can be quite a bit sure of their validity. Well, there's still quite some time for the iPad 4. Sit back and relax (or wait) till then.
