Hi,

I have been having this weird problem with my iPhone 4 32GB Factory Unlocked phone. Sometimes I am unable to hear anything when I take a call but the other end they hear me fine.

When it try to increase the volume of my speaker, it says Headphones. I am able to hear them when i put them on speaker / when i put on the headphones.

I cannot even hear the lock & unlock sound, or when i play any video / music.

But sometimes it works with no problems. I've read there are literally many iPhone users facing this problem even on 3Gs.

Is there any solution to this problem? I've tried to plug in & plug out the headphone a number of time but it doesn't work, neither does restarting the iPhone. :ashamed:

Like today when i was going out of home it was working, when i reached my destination, I got a call & it didn't work then. Then a few hours later I got another call & it worked that time. Then again stopped working. & when i reached home it was not working. now after a few hours it has started working again.

And the weird part I haven't even connected the Headphone in a while when this problem started.

First change and use differnt sim else restore it through iTunes and check for any problem(remember to take backup).

If the problem continues, go to apple care, the best service. They do the rest.

This used to happen to my 3GS... problem was due to some shorting of pins in phone usb connector port ( the 30 - pin port at bottom)..

I tried a simple solution of using a brush to clean the connector properly... and the problem got resolved for sometime...

happened to me once when i dropped my 3G, it was like that for two days, then i just connected the headphone and after removing it was working fine. Never happened again .....
