Altough I have read this at many places I'd like to hear it from some indian user that a verizon iphone 5 works on indian gsm carriers flawlessly?

Not a user of iPhone 5 but yes this information is true. There is some US regulation for CDMA (or specifically verizon only and not sprint, i don't know) due to which verizon cannot lock the GSM part.

Sounds interesting, should import a few then :p
As for sprint, i read on some forums that gsm users are not able to send texts on an i5 sold by sprint, however they reported no problems with verizon phones.

From what I have heard not all service providers are working. A friend of mine tried TataDocomo and it didnt work.
He tried Idea and it did.

Strange coz if a phone is GSM unlocked, it has to be unlocked for all carriers, and if locked its locked for all?
Maybe Verizon uses Idea's signal for roaming in India?

Weekend i will check with docomo and let u know.. so far tested with bsnl, aircel, airtel.. and currently i'm using with BSNL!
May be its due to with improper sim cutting?
