iPhone Dropped. Repair?

My brother's iPhone 2G was in very good condition... Until he dropped it one day. Now the home button's not working any more and the phone doesn't connect via USB.
When you make a call, the other person cannot hear you, so I'm assuming the mic is damaged or something as well. Sad thing is it only fell from a height of 3 feet.

Now the question here is, how can I fix this. Do any of you know people who do iPhone repairs? What damages am I looking at?

I had the same problem where I dropped it and the lower part of the screen stopped responding completely.

I had to pay 5k and FedEx it to California to a friend and Apple replaced the same for me ... since it was still in warranty.

I suggest you send the same to anyone you know in the US (if its still in warranty) .. thats better than getting it repaired by someone here and paying the same price.
