Hello guys.. I'm a bit stuck up here...

I ordered for an iphone from ebay.com, So i just went to customs and and took it home today. uhmm.. the thing is the i'm a complete newbie, i'm still learning how to navigate it. :)

Okay so i switched it on.. and i saw a pineapple that is partially eaten.

and i forgot to insert the sim card. then it took me a while to figure out where i had to insert the sim card (google helped here) :p

okay so i switched it on.. and started using it..

i felt all was okay.. i could see some applications like cydia and icy.. heard about them that they are something related to jailbreaking so i though it works perfect.



Okay the problem is..

i'm getting no service.. which is no network. so how do i fix it ?

do i need to jailbreak it again ?? also while i connect it via usb.. it shows "charging is not supported with this accessory"

uhmm.. at this point my first priority would be to make the sim card work..

ohh almost forgot.. its a 3GS and 3.1.2 ..

if any more details are required i'll be happy to do so.

I'm so happy that i've finally completed my dream of 2 years.. :eek:hyeah:

but at the same time sad... :'(

Update : i'm also unable to install games via itunes it tells me :

The application "Action Bowl" was not installed on the iPhone "BlacK RozE's iPhone" because an unknown error occurred (0xE8008001).
 
okay but.. as it is already unlocked.. should i .. restore it via itunes and den unlock it again ??

Also i'm looking at the tutorial here.. it says :

Step Six

Once your device reboots it will be jailbroken and you will notice a blackra1n icon on the Springboard. Make sure you have an internet connection and press to launch the application.

My question is .. i think its talking about internet connection on iphone right ? but since the sim isn't still working so how will i access net i.e gprs?

I'm using vodafone prepaid.

2k + 200rs. to some clerk.

if i did go legal it did cost me 14.2 something percent, and this was ofc. under the table.

Why Fhy?

No internet connection with a Wi-Fi router or a laptop at home/friend's place/neighbourhood/CCD?
 
Errr you DO need a connection with wi-fi - I unlocked my 3G using BlackRain with the iClarified tut.

Head to the nearest CCD.
 
I thought i'd bump this thread instead of creating a new one ..

Okay i got three problems..

1. I can charge via USB, it says accessory not supported.

2. I can't use YOUTUBE Application.. it says "CANNOT CONNECT TO YOUTUBE"

Although i got wi-fi as well as GPRS activated on the phone.

3. How to transfer video's ? I mean i converted the video's via xilisoft iphone video convertor, after than when i drag and drop the file into itunes i just cant see it !

Please help .. and can anyone suggest a good forum for iphone releated queries and information.

1. See if the charging port on iPhone has caught dust, try cleaning it! It could also be a software issue in which case you can try "Reset Settings" and see if it works. I am afraid the last option in this case would be to restore the firmware and re-install stuff all over again.

3. Where do you drag and drop in iTunes ? In your library or directly on your iPhone ?

Suggestion: Use "yxflash" from Cydia! Plays all video formats very well! No need to bother with video conversion ;)

Okay i typed the problem no.1 incorrectly, it is

1. I "can't" charge via USB, it says accessory not supported.

.. but i think you got it.. okay i got 3 cable's i tried all 3.. all give the same problem... uhmm.. strangely i'm able to charge it via my friends pc. :S

2. SOLVED :clap:

3. I drop into the music section.. I CAN'T DROP IT TO THE MOVIES SECTION.. it shows up like this ->



GAWDDD i'm starting to hate itunes :mad:

.. and thanks for the suggestion, but the convertor reduces the file size.. although i got 32gb but i value every mb of space :p
but yea its good if we need to transfer something urgently.
 
Anyways i just want to ask you that how is the phone's perfomance battery and overall , do tell i was planing to buy it but already got a nexus one
 
^^Once again..Did you try "Reset Settings" option to fix the first issue?

I am not too sure about the video conversion coz I never do that! But from my knowledge, you should be able to add videos of all supported video formats to your iTunes movies library! Why dont you try a different convertor software and see if it helps ?

See it all depends upon how you use, the phone has a pretty good standby time, but till now.. i can see the battery drains significantly if i play games..
phone's performance is truely awesome, i mean this was my dream phone from 3 years, then 3GS came in, which i coudn't afford but i managed to convince my dad and he said okay go for it.. even he says this is paisa wasool after i showed him the efficiency of the phone.

I used a nokia n73 .. and around that time iphone 2g was released.. and i was very happy with nokia n73 until i loaded the photos onto it, it was like about 200 pics, that too cropped one's.. and it was like slower than a turtle...
then one day my cousin came, and he was showing me his pics.. it was when he showed me 500 pics, then it striked me wow.. how many pics did we actually saw ? then i went came to the menu and saw he had 1200+ pics.. i was like wow this is awesome.. and that was on 2g which people say is 3-4 times slower than a 3gs, although i cant find any significant performance boasts. so that's how i was really hoping that i would get an 3GS and i finally got it .. at a bit steep price and i waited 3 years for it.. i didn't buy any cellphone between this time, i usually used to change my cellphone once in 9 months, but then i got bored of changing coz all the damn phones seemed bloody same to me, i only wanted to buy an iphone.. and today i've it.. and i don't regret even a single extra penny i paid even to the custom guy..
this phone is good, with apps from guys which make it the best. i don't know much about nexus, i don't intend too, iphone was a different phone, it was a revolutionary change atleast it was what i was waiting for .. *Curses nokia's symbian phones*

You see it's all original and nw people like htc, nokia google and all are copying the phone.

looks wise it doen't looks that great .. but if u like a really fast phone.. i say "ankh bandh karr ke lele pyare"

uhmm.. which settings are u talking about actually .. if i go in..
SETTINGS -> RESET ->

I get plenty of options... the 1st one is "Reset all settings" which says it doesn't deletes the data.. i think it the far most suitable in this case ? shud i try it ? :huh:

i'll try to google that video thing out.. thanks for your efforts. god bless you.
