IPod 8 Gb 4th generation:Need Advice

Apple has international warranty. So even its imported it doesnt matter as you can get it serviced at your nearest apple care center!

Imported Ipod stuff has lots of customs charges involved, its about 25-27% IIRC. So, its a bad idea to import IPOD unless one carries the stuff with him/her.

Dont get the 8 gb version. Get the 32 gb one. It is absolute beauty and I am quite sure you will regret the low memory space later if you get the 8 gb now. Go for the 32 gb version. It is worth the extra money.

:S What i meant was even if the ones that sell on ebay is grey market stuff getting a warranty in India shouldn't be an issue since its international warranty and doesn't require a purchase proof

So any product having international warranty doesn't require purchase proof for service?

You are right. Apple does provide international warranty. But my point of view is a bit different.

Op is looking for a good deal. If money was not an issue, he could have got his stuff from local dealers. But as he is searching online for good offers, that means he wanna save some bucks. In that case, importing can be quite a hassle because the customs duty will make a mess of that sweet deal.

DarkAngel meant that the Ipods on sale on ebay might be from grey market, imported from outside and hence cheap.

But since Apple offers international warranty so its not a bad idea to buy them off ebay.
 
Well ebay.in has some deals for leass than 12k. Op has to just search it. With a 500 rs off coupon, the deal is even sweeter.

Also, you can always ask the seller about warranty. I always do that before buying anything from ebay.in.
 
dont worry about ipod touch warranty, its dependent on serial number, you wont even need a bill, so you can buy from anywhere.
 
Yup. As RS4 says Ipod Touch warranty is serial no. based and international. Just grab the cheapest one on ebay (From a dealer with decent feedback of course!)
