I had bought one from ebay, worked well..... then my ipod hdd died but the batt worked well and is easy to replace, u'll find many videos on youtube...

On your hint I had a look on dealextreme, however it seems that 5th Gen Ipod's batteries are always "sold out". Can you confirm if I can use 2nd generation batteries in mine ipod?

Dunno about that , i've changed 2 ipod mini batteries and a 5th gen ipod video. Battery was in stock at that time.
