Hi,
I recently purchased a 2nd hand 30GB ipod.
It is already pre-loaded with lot of songs.

The thing is i want to transfer new songs [obviously]
But when i connect it via the cable to p.c, it shows me the following message :
"iTunes has detected a Macintosh-formatted iPod. You must restore this ipod before you can use it on windows."

The thing here is obvious that I'll need to format it to that it will work with my windows vista which also means losing all the songs which are in it.

I tried some 3rd party utilities but remained unsuccessful.
So is there anyone who experience similar situation, please help.

there is this app called copypod

it works great by copying all the existing songs off an iPod onto your PC, after which you can safely format it.

just reformatt the ipod...naturally current songs will be lost but you may recopy them .

I tried all of the above mentioned software's, but none seemed to work + i tried many other warez too but i failed, i had no option but to format and that is what i did.

Anyways thanks a lot for the help guys.
