Hi!

I recently got the new fatboy nano (which i absolutely LOVE).

After playing around extensively with iTunes and some other software to manage the data/moozic on the ipod, i came to a conclusion that the good ol' winamp does a decent job of transfering stuff on to the 'pod.

Also, iTunes' interface is damn slow and it takes ages ages to scroll down the playlist.

So what do you think? Which software do you use to sync. your iPod?

i use Anapod Explorer & Utilities 9.0

prolly the best for the ipod ..

Allows u to pick media files from multiple comps.. ;)

Anapod Explorer is the most advanced Windows iPod software available, offering full iPod management through full Windows Explorer integration under My Computer easy drag and drop iPod transfer and iPod backup, PDA function support, web page interface access to your iPod through a built-in web server, powerful search and reporting capabilities using a built-in SQL database, and much more, all in one compact package.

anapod rocks

having said that, i use itunes because it's easier to use...just create a new playlist called nano list or whatever and set your ipod to sync from that

so that nxt timw, f you like any album(s) on your pc collection, you can just add it to that playlist and your ipod will acqiuire that on the next sync/recharge cycle

BTW whats your take on the ease of use>> features paradigm now? ;)

Hmm...lets see

As this was the first iPod i owned(or used for that matter) and having previously used t.sonic 610, it got me a couple of seconds to figure out that the control wheel is touch based! I was expecting some sort of rotating wheel (like a jog dial).

Also, it was quiet shocking to realize that coverflow actuaally puts together tracks based on artists and not albums! I seriously think that must be a bug and not a 'feature'.

iPod is very very easy to use and intuitive but iTunes sucks.

i use Anapod Explorer

Me too, Anapod is amazing... it is really cheap and well worth supporting a smaller company that makes great software which competes with Apple. Updates of the software are always free, I have had it for about 3 years and have never been charged to update to a newer version. They are always improving it and adding support for new apple hardware.

Anapod....

Finally found a decent app..

Floola

Floola is a freeware application to efficiently manage your iPod or your Motorola mobile phone (any model supporting iTunes). It's a standalone application that can be run directly from your iPod and needs no installation under Linux, Mac OS X and Windows (Windows Vista is supported).

Also, [Ultraget + Videora] seems like a kicka** combo for converting youtube (FLV) videos to MP4.

I've been using iTunes to manage my music even before I had iPod... and I love it. Many people say that's too sluggish, which I find exaggeration. I'll admit it's a bit heavy app, but nowhere sluggish even on my 4 yr old iBook and my old 478 socket P4 system with 512 ram (my download rig which also serves as iTunes server). It may not be every modder/hacker friendly app, but does the job and most simple to use.

^By slugginsh I meant the interface (for example, the scrolling of playlists) and not the app itself (i.e. functionality-copying files etc.)

^ and I meant the Interface only. :)

I never had problem scrolling 1000+ songs in a single playlist on above mentioned systems.

although I mostly use search feature to get to the song I'm looking for rather than scrolling.

I have 2229 songs and it does get slow even i browse the playlists (based on Genre and Language). Also, I broese album-wise so that it will be easier to transfer a complete album to the device.

I have over 7K songs but it doesnt run slow for me...the mac version is actually awesome, but the windows version aint all that bad either...
What version are you using?

I personally, have never like all the extra stuff iTunes installs along with itself... it wants to open every media file I have and as stated previously it is a little heavy. I have over 17gigs of music... fairly sluggish for me.

I use the latest version (7.5)...the interface seems like it is in some gel. But after you tag the songs and organize it is pretty good (but so are the others like WMP)

i would personally say sharepod been using it form past 3 years its tooo good and u can get it for free and its portable
