ipod Nano acting weird ! Time for RMA ?

I have got Nano 5th gen (not the one with cam ) on my B'day this July. Lately its been acting very weird. Sometimes it gets hanged and sometimes the response becomes patheticly slow :(

How did this started. The first time I noticed the regression was while charging. The ipod got stuck at the now playing screen (which generally doesn't show while charging) and it stopped responding as well. Even holding the power button doesn't do wonder. The nano got very hot while charging and then I got frightened as I heard some ipod blasting (news)

The second time it happened when I was doing bus travel. The cover flow effect became very slow and the transition to Cover flow and Now playing became unbearably painful.

Now today again it hang and just now the OS restarted :S

What is really the problem with the device. Its hardly 6months old and its showing symptoms like a decade old gadget :(

Should I go for RMA ? If yes can anyone guide the procedure..

Haven't tried that. Will that fix the problem ?

I am really sceptical that it will ! Also I don't want to do format and go through the copying process again and again. Specially for ipod :@
 
I don't know if ur ipod will work with SharePod . Check if it does then back-up everything on PC. Format it, all problems should be fixed! Restore using latest Itunes.

Dont be panic, Restore the firmware using latest iTunes. It seems your firmware is screwed. I suggest you to reinstall iTunes and then restore firmware :), the latest firmware available for nano 5th gen is 1.0.1 I believe..
 
Sorry for bumping but I had enough of the ipod. Can't find the email ID for ipod support / RMA. Anyone please help me RMA it :@ Updated the firmwire to 1.04PC yet same issue :@
 
I dont think you need to mail Apple for RMA.Just walk into Apple service center and tell them you r facing a problem with your Ipod.They will check the warranty against you serial no and within one weeks time they will give u a new one.Here is a list of Apple Authorized service providers

if it hangs, do a soft reset.... which is by holding the middle and top buttons together for 2-3sec.

trying updating the firmware once after that..
 
go to service center,Even if your ipod is without bill you can claim warranty through serial number
