I have a 2g touch myself and it would be helpful if the owner clarifies if he has ever connected his touch with itunes , if yes when was it .
I suppose, it doesn't work that way. Had that been the case, how do you think iTunes sends the data w.r.t warranty if there was no internet on the machine I connect my iPod for transferring the data through iTunes? Or let's say the PC sends some data to the iPod suggesting that the warranty commences starting this day. How do you think you can retrieve that data online when you enter the serial number on Apple's site on some other machine?

IIRC my iTouch had a warranty slighter greater than 1 year. An additional 2 months IIRC. This may have been intended to be the buffer period within which the ipod could be sold to the end-user.

Neither does Apple explicitly state it anywhere in their T&C.

vebk, there's no harm if you open the seal IMO. Open it and find the serial number and enter it in the site and verify the warranty. See for yourself. :)

I disagree, having a sealed pack assures the buyer that I have not touched, used or done anything with the device and it is in brand new condition. Even if I open it with gloves, and only see the serial number and shut it again, the buyer will definitely think I have used it for a while. I know I would pay more for a brand new sealed product than one that is opened (even if the seller swears that he has not used it etc.)

I don't understand what you are saying.

Oh ok - it seems that the changes in TE erased that part. The asking price is 8,300/- (local pick-up), and I am open to offers.
