Guys whenever i plug my Fiio E3 Apms with my ipod touch and increase the volume, The sounds distorts or becomes unpleasant dont know why....Can anyone tells me why it happens?? Is my amp faulty ??

i dont have a fioo E3 amp but my friend has it and i also experienced the same distortion at higher volumes on sansa clip plus, so your amp is fine i guess and from what i can remember this distortion happens at very high volume levels which is not advisable for safety/health reasons, so i will advise you to decrease the volume if you want to enjoy music for long time.
Fii0 E3 has lot more distortion than the E5, especially when volume is cranked up more than 60%. technically E3 doesnt have a volume control and we ve to regulate the input (ie source) to regulate to output power. It sound quiet good at around 50% volume, and its unbearable at more than 80%.
An e5 has very little distortion compared to an E3. i recommend you to upgrade to E5. The bass boost function too is good, better than cranking up the bass on EQ.

the distortion is most probably due to the fact that you are amplifying the already amplified signal .I pod does not have a dedicated line out 3.5mm stereo jack . if you use an amplifier by connecting it to the 3.5mm jack of ipod, the amplification is done on the already amplified signal ( done by the ipod internal ampliier ).
you will have to get a lineout dock cable (commonly known as "lod" ) which takes out the unamplified signal.
