Ipod Touch purchase

Woah! Thanks a ton guys. That's loads of information right there. I just spent the whole morning looking at the YouTube vids of some free games available for the Ipod Touch and they were kick ass, simplistic, but still kick ass. I'll go for the 2G 8GB one. I'm really short on budget and hence the choice. :)

BTW doesn't the 2G model have more battery life than the 3G one?

My maximum budget for a decent earphone is 800 bucks. I suppose EP630 would then be my only choice, right? I'm not an extreme audiophile, so something with a good bass quality would do.

@Techno: Which earphone did you find best with your Ipod?

Hmm....I'll keep that as an option too. How is it in comparison to the EP-630 OR I shouldn't bother comparing the two? :ashamed:

What's the burn-in thing about the earphone that I have heard about? Should it be a concern?

Also one more major concern people, which protective pouch should I buy for the Touch?

I was thinking of this eBay India: Case Mate Case for ipod Touch 2G Vroom (item 250556494727 end time 03-Jan-2010 22:41:23 IST)

So need an urgent suggestion on the protective casing.
 
^^Cant do any comparision with the EP-630 as i dont have it.

I have PL30 and currently using with my ipod classic and Sony NWZ616, they sound excellent with my PL30.

Iam not an audiophile but Pl30 is more of a crisp clear SQ earphone which offers decent sound far better any OEM with enough bass.

There is much maturity i noticed in sound signature after 30hrs of burn-in using white and pink noise..........

Don't expect too much battery life. I have an 8GB 2G ipod touch which I got from US for around 160$ (my friend bought it for me). It's excellent value for money. I use it more as a pocket computer and video player rather than a music player (I have my old zune and ipod classic for my music needs).

Battery is not very good even for 2G. Wi-Fi usage will drain the battery pretty fast. And dont worry 8GB 3G model is also jailbreakable, but dont spend on the 8GB 3G. It's just a 2G with updated firmware. You can update the firmware urself.

8GB 2G is a very VFM good choice. Close ur eyes and go for it - my recommendation.
 
heh.. hey allwyn... looks like Christmas shoppin aint done yet mate :D, good choice there, iPod Touch 8GB is good enuf.. but as others suggested the third gen Ipods are whole dffrnt lvls mate.. oh and white and pink noise are sound files that ppl play on their earphones for burn-in, its as they say brings out the best the earphones have to offer in sound qual, but it doesent really matter for us normal non audiophile creatures... neway u better post some pics this time around mate....

I don't think I would use Wi-Fi that much, considering I don't visit any Wi-Fi hot spots that often and I don't have a wireless router at home. :P

Thanks for your view and have you got any pouch to go along with it?

Hey Kamlesh, I'll be totally broke by the end of the month, so might as well do it in style. :bleh:

I just want a earphone with good bass effect and hence wanted to know if either EP-630 or any other earphone would be a good choice. Since this is one thing which varies on experience of every user, I'm totally confused out here. Believe me, I haven't heard the SQ of any of these earphones, so I'm banking a lot on the users opinions out here.

As for the pics, you know that I'm really bad at show-off, so I'll try to get a small glimpse of it for you, if I can. ;)
 
iPod 8GB 2 Gen... an awesome all in one device for me. Well I bought it blindly at first but then using it is still an amazing feeling for me. I got a Dell BH200 and I can pair and use it with the iPod. Wi-Fi browsing, listening to songs and videos is just amazing. You can even watch a movie on this.
 
First off, a hearty thanks to all of you for pouring in all your valuable opinions. I just ordered the Itouch 2G 8GB for Rs. 9,774 (using 5% discount coupon was a smart move ;)) and also got the CAPDASE Soft Jacket 2 Xpose protective casing for it.

Now all that's left to order is the Soundmagic PL-30. Yes, I fell for all that hoopla you guys created for it. Hope it's worth it. :P
 
A month back I made a iPod Touch 2G 8GB purchase for a friend from eBay @8100 Got it at 7600 after using the Coupon. :)

Wish you find such a deal... :)

Awesome deal. Unfortunately, at this point, this was the cheapest deal I could find on Ebay. Anyway, I'm content with the purchase as long as the product is solid. ;)
 
wow.. congratz dude.. u finally ate the apple :D heh.. hope it reaches u soon... enjoy mate... now i cant wait to get my hands on the HD2.. dammit.. still collecting funds :P ... neway use that shiny camera of urs and do post some pcs.. :D
