I will be buying an Apple Ipod Video 60 GB tomo. But, I need to find certain info. Those who own should be able to help me.

1)Is IPOD UMS Complaint or Do I compulsory need to used Itunes to transfer Audio and Video?

2)I Intend to transfer my entire audio collection to the MP3 player and remove it from my PC and thus save some space on my PC. But, can I connect the player to the PC and playback the songs from the Ipod? I cant let my ATP3 connected to my PC go to waste!!!

3)Which is the best place to buy Ipod Video in Mumbai, JJ Mehta, Alpa or somewhere else. I would opt for cheaper price along with good support.

No and No....

you can't directly copy and paste songs/videos from your HDD (though you can copy data files or even songs and videos as data files, but they won't show up in your playlist)

However, you don't have to necessarily use itunes to tfr songs/videos....

You can use Winamp (after installing the iPod plugin) or a bunch of other third party utilities

Yes you can...without any hitches whatsoever using Winamp/iTunes

JJ Mehta is good AFAIK, but I'd rather have a Mumbai member answer this
 
superczar answered all ur quueries... i am not sure but I think that if u install rockbox then you can directly play your videos....
 
U need itunes, else the music won't show up.

Data such as games can be transferred using the Ipod, its like a huge pen drive

yep u can use your speakers to play music directly from the Ipod, no probs there, it works seamlessly with your PC speakers

Be warned though, the Winamp plugin has a known bug where it will randomly wipeout all data and playlists from the iPod.
Happened to me once, pain in the ass to reset everything the way it was.
 
Get it from Alfa.

best place to get it from IMHO.

Thats where I get everything like my Cells, and TV's and stuff from :P..
