Laptops Is a backlit keyboard worth the extra money?

one of my friend has this laptop without a backlit keyboard. now he wants the backlit, so if he purchases this Genuine DELL Studio 1535 1536 15 Keyboard Backlit KR766 - eBay (item 130350709447 end time Jan-07-10 00:24:24 PST) and replaces it with his existing keyboard, will it work? is there something else i need to know?

there seems to be a paradox at work here.
if you will be using your notebook extensively- "those late night working/browsing sessions", then i am sure you are well acquainted with the keys like i am, and wont be needing the keyboard to be lit. SO you wouldn't need it.
Agreed, 1k is a small amount, but guys, this is what you need to understand, these are all frills. I am not against this, but thnk for a moment, Did the computer that sent the man to the moon in 1969 have this?
