Hello,

Does anyone know if a keyboard without the 'Windows' key and a full enter (L shaped enter) key is available? Or any other OS neutral keyboard for that matter?

In earlier days of DOS, we would use such a mechanical TVSE keyboard. I still repent the day that I got rid of it when I exchanged my 386 for a new pentium PC. That was the best gaming keyboard I ever had....solved many games using that keyboard. Never had a problem with accidentally pressing the (crappy) windows key as there was a gap between the Ctrl and Alt keys that made them easily identifiable.

donno about a keyboard without a windows key, but my G15 has a "game mode" switch which disables the windows key so u dont get interrupted during gameplay.. which is pretty nifty..

buy a keyboard, any keyboard you like, and just pluck out the offending key ....

Otherwise, the TVSE(mechanical ) is still sold under the name TVS Gold

hehehe......Our college comp keyboards used to have a stupid sleep button just under the "end" key ...More often than not, A keypress intended to hit "end" would go hit "sleep"

Eventually, all the keyboards were robbed off the stuip sleep key ;)

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I guess the G15's feature is pretty nifty Powersurge. I've another question. Does your experience with the G15 make you feel that it's worth the extra premium paid in terms of money?
I'm also on the lookout for a good keyboard. I'm thinking of going mech rather than membrane due to the far better response v/s membrane keyboards that I've tried over the years but give poor response in games.
Also, I've read some unfavourable comments on the G15 like the keys are shaped weird and that it's too long. Any comments?

I like to keep things simple and modern day keyboards befuddle the user with a million buttons that he'll never use. And I don't think I can ever get used to those ergonomic Microsoft keyboards(if they wanted to make a keyboard ergonomical, they should stop reducing the size of important keys like spacebar and enter).

Thanks Chaos for the link. I think it would be better to remap it to the Ctrl key as in most cases, the gamer is going for that key rather than disable it. What do you say?

well frankly speaking, i got both the G7 and G15 in a spur of the moment buying spree. i wouldnt know how much "bang for the buck" it is as compared to probably a saitek eclipse gaming keyboard.. but luckily with my experience with logitech their keyboard/mice last for atleast a 2 years. i considred it kinda an investment (not like im gonna need another keyboard like, unless this one goes kaputt lol)

if you are a gamer then you will definetly appreciate the backlit keys.. plus the 18 programmable "G" keys are pretty handy if ur playing warcraft or something.
the onboard LCD right now is mostly eyecandy.. with cpu/ram usage and the time/date etc.. although online communities like G15Forums are developing a lot of applets for the LCD specifically.

And yes, this keyboard is wide.. really really wide. so better get a measuring tape and see if this thing can fit in your workspace if you are considering it.
