Is Apple iPod Touch worth a buy ?

My .02$ -

The PSP is a pretty good option barring the lack of a touchscreen and radio.

It has a large bright screen, great for watching videos! + gaming. Versatility of the new PSP 3000 series has increased a lot now that they support custom firmware allowing you to play downloaded ISOs of games and load other applications.

Audio playback is quite good with decent headphones.

I mainly use my PSP for Games > Videos / TV Shows > Photo viewing > Comics > Music :)
 
You can browse the net with PSP over the WiFi connection though its integrated browser, but its now where as convenient or good an experience as on a touch screen with an iPod Touch or similar device. One of the reasons why I prefer to use my 5800 for browsing rather than my PSP despite the PSP having a larger screen.

I would agree about the PSP being a great video player and gaming device, the screen is pretty good even on the PSP-2000, but PSP makes a lousy audio player. Audio quality is passable, but no where near what I would call good.
 
Somethings definitely gotta give..

On one hand Larger screen, good gaming and video player and on another good browsing, good audio and applications...

Anyways which would be best PSP Slim to buy at the moment 2000/3000 ? (Fresh/Second hand )

And what would be the approximate price..
 
Touch is a scratch magnet if u buy tht get screen guard + leather pouch.
Is it worth? I dont think so when our american counterparts pay a lot less for the samestuff and we get outdated models for ridiculous prices.

The iPods available in India are exactly the same models that are available anywhere else in the world. Stop posting generalised, false statements.

Now, I am a little biased in favour of Apple and have never used a PSP for more than a few minutes (which were enough to tell me that it’s good for games, videos, and music, but can be an absolute pain in the rear when it comes to Internet browsing or even just connecting to a wireless network), so take my advice with a spoonful of salt. :p

What the PSP has got going for it: Better hardware that is more suited for games.

What the iPod touch has got going for it: Better software that is more suited for almost everything else.

With the addition of the App Store, the iPod touch is now in a league of its own. There are more than fifty thousand applications for it out there. Even if you take out the forty thousand crappy ones, you’re still left with ten thousand great pieces of software, an unhealthy majority of which happen to be games.

And although the lack of physical controls on the iPod touch does give PSP the edge when it comes to gaming, there is something to be said for the unique blend of the accelerometer and Multi-touch screen on the iPod touch, that makes for some very interesting control schemes.

So, in my opinion, if gaming is going to play a big part in your daily routine, you should go with the PSP. But if you want a device that can serve as an all-round entertainer, the iPod touch, with its slimmer and smaller design and cheaper price, should fit the bill (and your jeans pocket) perfectly.

P.S.: That may have been my first post on this forum, sure, but it’s far from my first post on Indian forums. And if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. ;)
 
i have the 2g, its the best there is as of now. period.

one ? i have is that the games available in app store officially, are they there in cydia at all ? i dint find any and bought some games today. but i dont want to buy all of them cuz after buying some are relly crap. what are the best games repo. there is ? please let me know the links. cheers.

Guys how's it between the I-Pod Touch & I-Phone 2G? Both retail for around the same price.
The absence of speakers on I-Pods is a bummer for me as I hate earplugs. Know about the docks, etc. but speakers on the device is a different story altogether.

Nationite is just rebranding. I know mp4nation is costlier than other offerings. But If you can find similar reliable site then go ahead and try your luck.We need good deals. At the moment I cant find any other site reliable and mostly are Chinese. The ONDA player is what my colleague purchased.
 
^^ ONDA...how much did he purchase that for ?? Is it the same one i have pointed above ?

BTW it is newegg and hence i suppose it is a reliable site and i can catch hold of them if anything is wrong when the product is delivered and even later on (for some time).

Also since i feel this deal is lucrative as the price is like 40% less than the MP4 nation price for the very same product and the best part i can get the product in less than 2 days delivered to my office and the icing on the cake is that i pay no upfront money...its Cash on Delivery in Shanghai
