is buying only bf2 worth it??

guys,i want to buy bf2 soon,but as euro force and spl ops hae come out.wont most ppl be on them and not be on normal bf2??also how will bf2 run on a 6600gt.i also wanted to know if euro force and spl forces are free (if u have bf2).:bleh:

Dont know about how many ppl u may find playin BF2 but i can help you out with the latter part of your question.

On my AthlonXp 2600+ with 1Gb RAM and 6600GT, the game was pretty smooth at medium to high settings @ 1024. Your graphics card is more then sufficient to play at medium settings. The only issue here is RAM. Ensure at least 1 GB RAM to experience smooth frame rates. The more the better..:)

Btw, i think Bf2 would still be a popular game as u still hav ppl playin BF.. ;)
 
the BF2 additions are not free. they will cost you.

As far as BF2 goes, if you want all eye candy up then you need generous amount of CPU, GPU power and RAM.

If you tone down your setting a bit it will be perfectly playable on decent rig,. And there are plenty of people on BF2, no need to worry about that.
 
Well,the 6600GT is more than capable of running bf2 in high settings but this also depends on the fact tht you should have a sufficient RAM like 2gb minimum cause ppl are experiencing laggy gameplay with 1gb while some don't.So it would be better if you have 2gb to play smoothly or like funky said..just tone down ur settings and you'll have smooth gameplay.

As in availability of players,there are lots but I'm afraid tht number will decline once the Quake wars mod releases,I have been advising my frnds tht unless their pc can handle bf2..don't buy it but rather go for quake 4 since it's mod gonna be released this year and it looks nicer than bf2.

But overall,I can say bf2 is awesome..but as you know EA style i.e. to drain your purses,they'll be releasing a lotta expansion packs which originally should have been released with the updates.Now there is Special Forces and Euro force,another one tht's gonna be released is armored fury.
 
ok.so which is a better investement q4 or bf2??also i havent gotten a 6600gt yet.i ahvea limit of 9k,dont know any other card to buy.
 
How abt posting your system specs?

I can then tell you which game to buy,also ppl who have quake 4..pls post on whether the game is worth buying in terms of online multiplayer with the fact tht the quake wars mod is coming out,so if he should go for quake 4 or bf2.

onboard ati xpress 200(will get 6600gt sumtime in march)

amd athlon 3000+
also u have any idea about how quake wars wil be priced or is it a free mod??

Free mod !! :O :O It's a stand alone game developed by splash damage. Not a quake 4 mod. Just the subject matter relates to quake i.e. Stroggs Vs Earth Defence Force.
 
Hmm,since you have atleast 1gb of RAM,I guess you can play smoothly i.e. some of ur settings will be low while others will be in medium.Well..you can buy bf2..considering the fact tht you don't mind lowering your settings till you can upgrade to 2gb RAM.

Yeah I have searched it and found out tht it is a standalone game and it won't be free as you have to pay for it.Also there won't be any singleplayer mission i.e. you won't be able to play with bots like in bf2.
