^ wow...This would be a big moment for Indian development houses

Gothic is a huge RPG franchise and if they manage to pull this off well, then they would get worldwide recognition

and if they screw up, there are in for some serious fan bashing

I am big fan of Gothic 3 and very mich looking forward to this expansion

Weird thing is that, their website is not having any info on this big game...any developer would paint their website with such a big game on their lap

Trine Game Studios ::[/url] - An Indian game development company, cant see it correct, as their website doesnt list anything about Gothic 3

maybe an NDA...

here's hoping they can rescue the game/series with this expansion. gothic 3 was a nightmare, absolutely terrible, bug infested game. it pales miserably in comparison to gothic 2 and night of the raven.

I have to disagree with you on this
Gothic 3 is like an uncut diamond...anyone who plays its first will say its a POS

but once u install the latest community patches and have a powerful rig with tweaks done, its a great game...much deeper than oblivion

I enjoyed it greatly...a superb RPG experience...Hence i don't want these Trine guys to screw one of my beloved game franchise

putting so many caveats doesn't make it a good game.

being deeper than oblivion isn't saying much... oblivion was a shallow rpg to begin with.

having a powerful rig now runs the game fine. but when the game was released 2 years ago, it brought even the most powerful systems to their knees... and the return wasn't that great either. it's not like it had crysis level graphics to even justify how much of a system hog it was. it was the epitome of poor coding.

the single thing that irritated me above anything else was the sheer number of bugs. game breaking bugs that showed that piranha bytes/jowood didn't have any sort of QA. it was totally disgusting. i remember i was doing a particular quest looking for someone and i searched for ages all over the place where he was supposed to be.... only to find him 100 feet up in the air above where he was supposed to be. it might sound funny but it only reflects how crappy their QA was, and how bad their coding was. so maybe 2 years later the community patches, tweaks, config modifications and official patches make the game playable, but at release it was utter nonsense. that's what makes it a useless game.

and i am a huge fan of gothic 2 and the notr expansion, so no one was more disappointed than me that they managed to f*ck up gothic 3 so badly.

^ whatever u say is right...it was an absolute bug fest when released, i played it only with it fully patched before 4 months and i had a great experience

I hope atleast Gothic 4 releases in playable state, which is being developed by spellbound (Desperados devs)

First of all we want to thank the community for showing their support and we also want to thank those who have chosen to buy the game. Unfortunatey, it wasn't possible for us to release a game that could fully satisfy you, for different reasons.

The game was released this year because that was what we and the community desired. JoWooD and Trine have worked under a lot of pressure, and to repair some of the mistakes we released the game with a patch, hoping to make it better.

Michael Kairat, Executive Producer of JoWooD said: We are now getting the full "bill" from the community for our mistakes.

JoWooD Productions would like to present their apologies to the fans for releasing an unsatisfying game.

Furthermore Michael Kairat explained that in the next days a new patch will be released which will improve the quality of the game. It will be available for download on JoWooD's Official Website.

We also want to make a content patch which will include opinions, suggestions, wishes from the community. After the feedback from the community, we will release a statement regarding the patch.

Toghether with Spellbound we will make early beta tests for Arcania: A Gothic Tale, to be sure that past mistakes will not be repeated. JoWooD admits their mistake, and will prevent it from happening again, says Michael Kairat on behalf of the entire team.

Lol...fail.
