Hi All,

dunno where to post... in which section hence posting here..

Well Following is my uncles config:

C2D E4300
Intel D965RY
Transcend 2*1 GB * 667 Mhz
Powersafe 400W PSU
Samsung 160Gb HDD

Now my query is when the machine is switched on (only the power supply, not the power switch), all the mobo fans and system fans spin for 5 sec and shut down..

but the system when powered up functions fine... what may be issue?

any clue...

TIA

Well, this is a common issue with Original Intel G965 based mobos. My mobo has the same issue.

Nothing to worry about :)

Hey Monty... thanks

That was fast.... can we prevent it (by BIOS setting or some thing) or we have to live with it...

Dunno how I will explain it to my uncle though...

jus something u have to stay with ....have seen it in P4's / Pentium D's / and now hearing it on a C2D....so its nothing to do with the Processor for sure.......seen in on multiple SMPS's so its nothing to do with the SMPS's as well...its something on the MBB :) .....seen it on
Asus P4P800 / Asrock / Intel.......its jus fine................
Someone in the past told me its something to help protect against Power "Surges" ....donno how it helps or how true it is....
bottom line...its not an ISSUE :) ......

iirc that is a feature to indicate that the power is reaching the mobo, useful for mobo's that dont have any leds
