Hi,

I want to know is it possible to join 2 broad band connections and make a single connection to get the max speed..

I heard from a friend that 5-6 yrs back, a local net provider joined 4 one 1 mbps connections and got 4 Mbps speeds..

If that's possible then how can we do that...

for that you will have to use 2 dedicated NIC preferable broadcom cards or intel cards(cant club both together), do a NIC teaming and choose "Link aggregation" as mode

If both are limited usage plans how exactly will the usage be calculated for each connection if its possible ?

If this is possible, then i will connect two 512mbs unlimited plan and make 1 mbps unlimited...

As no, unlimited plans come in 1 mbps from bsnl....

Yes it is possible, with a software called 'Wingate' . I used it to combine a couple of free airtel gprs connections with it (years ago)

Follow this guide http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/tutorials/131260-combine-two-internet-connections-into-one-get-highspeed-works-mobile-phones.html

I'm sure it'll work for you, provided you have 2 NICs.

It is possible, but let us know how do you plan to use it? Using a router OR a PC directly. Also, since you mentioned BSNL, you will need 2x ADSL modems.

If you are using a router, you will need to flash it with tomato/open wrt/dd wrt etc. And use a load balancing technique script. If using a PC, you will need a software.

Irrespective of whether you are using the router or the PC, just remember that both connections will not be merged into one, actually. Unless you are loading content that can use the 2x lines like P2P ie torrents, you will not notice a difference when you are downloading from sites most sites like youtube, rapidshare, etc. [exception is premium accounts for cyberlockers]

I'm planning to use 2 different landline connections for my home( 750+750=1500/month) , also, 2 different modems as provided by the bsnl for each connections,., then i will use 2 ethernet sockets on my pc to connect to both of them..

The only problem is that i dont know how to join the bandwidth of the two connections...

If you plan to do it on your machine, you could follow the link provided bu sumdim7 above.
