Why do you ask pal? Don't think that I spent a moolah on registration. Promo code along with GoDaddy is a killer combo, a very cheap one. Mooocho cheaper compared to what indians offer.

Which promo code did you use with godaddy? Am looking to register a .com domain, although no hurry, but since the prices are going to increase, might as well do asap.

Do google search you will see plenty, although you will need to search for the ones that are active. But believe me they are there.

Its better to go with VPS, if you think your site will get good traffic.

For example around 2-5,000 unique visitors a day.

A VPS can be cheap or expensive but solves the problem as you can handle all things yourself and do things on it like you do on your computer.

Shared Hosting, is pretty good if not bought from oversold hosting.

I would suggest some company like

downtownhost.com I have a shared reselling plan from them $7.50 a month and it seems just fine.

webhostingtalk.com -- Site like this would be more preferable place to ask these kinda questions.

Never go for hostgator..dreamhost..servage etc...trust me all thoose selling GBsss are overselling and making your site run little slow...

I really don't agree with you.

hostgator & dreamhost are very reputed shared hosting companies.

They are definitely overselling but they are doing it right. If you have a normal site with average traffic it should work fine. Just dont expect that you can use the full bandwidth or disk quota.

Gaurish, if they advertise well doesn't mean they are reputed.

Anyways most of you going to host like one blog or a static html website which wont be related to anything like traffic what TE gets or any other site gets.

So go for anything, its totally fine..

One more company I like is Shared Hosting Provider - Affordable Hosting Plan, Linux Hosting, Ruby On Rails, Wordpress Forums, PHP & ASP Net, PHPBB Web Hosting Server - Jaguarpc and Knownhost

Peace
