Hello people applied for bsnl broadband. Dont know much about the wifi router which they provide. But i heard it is crap. Please advice whether to buy it from them or get a reputed brand like linksys, netgear, etc. In the latter case please suggest a good N wifi adsl router...

so basically are you looking for "adsl modem" OR "modem + router"

Choice of brand will differ based on your requirements

The device BSNL provides is router cum DSL modem. I don't think it supports wifi "n". It is good for basic use but not if you're looking for some advanced functions.

I am using a one for 4 years without any problem. Reliability is good but range is OK. If u want to stream HD media via it, it might not do, but for surfing in close range, good enough.

Buy D-Links they are providing Life Time warranty.I have bought two of them as backup,as you never know when your modem gonna kick your ass.And BSNL modem provide only 1 year warranty with very less facility and reliability.

I suggest you to get BSNL modem, because, if any shit happnes they blame your modem only. "Oh sorry sir, the modem you have is not BSNL. It might be giving problem" Thats what they always say :-/

The dlink 2750U which is dual antenna COSTS around 2.5k which is N300. Even if it doesnt support full 300mb/s, it will atleast be slightly better than the bsnl provided one which costs 2.2k, right ??. Moreover dlink gives 3 yr warranty

But my only purpose is i will be using my nokia e71 for wifi. Since i am getting N feature for just 300 more, i am opting for the dlink one. But i wonder how they give N300 for 2.5k. This is the cheapest N300 router in the world i guess but not sure whether it can give atleast 150Mb/s speed..
