I listen to a lot of music in my car and mostly alternative rock, some bollywood and EDM. I always wish it had the clarity at least that of my EP630 (how is that for comparison).

Now I am not sure if this is psychological but I felt the speakers of a Polo or even a Maruti were sounding better than the i20.

So need some thoughts on what is the perception about the i20 speakers in general. And if I have to replace those, what should I consider.

i20 speakers sound bad. I don't know if the system that drives them is bad too.
About a couple of years ago, played music from my phone Samsung S2 which had the Siyah (eargasm) kernel, and it sounded phenomenal!
So, the speakers might not be all that bad, but the amp/system ?
Not completely sure here!

Recently booked Ritz Zxi.... everything I desired was there in Zxi expect the audio system, The only advantage I found in stock system is the control button on steering wheel. Even tried for by back with Maruti Accessories but they didn`t provided any option.

After looking through several forums and inquiring with friends, music on wheels enthusiastic prefer a mid range model rather than high end wherein there is no audio system included (say Vxi model in terms of Maruti). This gives a better option to build a system as per individual tastes.

All cars have average audio systems installed. There are so many better options available for the base amp, the speakers etc.

I have planned to the stock system and speakers to be replaced after 6 months or so...

The reason I do not want to change the stock system is coz I don't want to mess with the aesthetics. Based on my limited experience with speakers, just changing those makes a lot of difference. But I will try playing the music through the aux/bluetooth to verify that.

@Vagabond - I would not suggest sacrificing the security features of a high end model for the sake of sound quality.

@Renegade do not hesitate to change the speaker. You can change it very well without sacrificing on aesthetics. What matters the most is Installer and how he does the job.
Speaking from my personal carputer experience which is still working fine even after 5 years in my swift.

I am not sacrificing with the safety features but will replace the audio setup only.
