Is the Airtel 2Mbps Unlimited (2999) plan available in Hyderabad

What is your FUP Limit on the plan? I can tolerate a 100GB FUP limit. Anything lower, I would cancel the damn connection. There is absolutely no point.
:ashamed: Sorry i am not aware of the GB limit.
But its gonna be implemented soon everywhere and i doubt the FUP limit is gonna be as high as 100gb.
Tikona is a Scam. Many people here in mysore have filed consumer complaints against it as it does not even provide the bare minimum speeds apart from the frequent disruptions plaguing its service, this is the scenario with such a minimal userbase.. So definately stay away from it in bigger cities.
Have not tried Reliance but shifting to 3g due to this :(

well Airtel had the 2Mbps unlimited plan for 2999 even in hyderabad. I was on it for almost a year. I think the FUP on this plan was 100GB.

Then airtel started increasing speeds and implementing FUP's . I was still on the old plan with 100GB FUP which i never reached (60-65 was the max).

But then came beamtele and i switched. I'm not sure if they are still offering new connections with this plan but existing customer sure can continue.

Also if you call customer care they'll have no idea about this plan so go figure how to get a new connection. They will say that your are paying more as you have old plan but FUP has been moved to 20 GB but actually FUP stayed at 100 for this one.

How much does beam tele charge for initial install. Also is there a way to establish connection with out need for a pc. Ie say over wifi (using wifi router) from a mobile or tablet? If it relies on a pos dialer like sify used to, then its no good to me.

heard that they(beam) are going to double it from next month ie 4mbps for 1k.. try it. Only if the guys wasn't a dick in new area(near to madhapur police station) where I shifted, I wouldn't have canceled it, despite quite a few downtimes in past a few months, but I stopped heavy usage and needed good reliable connection for playing games/watching online videos etc, so no issues for me as such.

Yeah what u said is true.

New packages would be..

B MAX 400RS - 512kbps

B MAX 600RS - 1mbps

B MAX 850RS - 2mbps

B MAX 1000RS - 4mbps

B MAX 1500RS- 8mbps

What all concern is the Service, Technicians are lazy.. so if u offer dem 100 bucks PA. He'l Promptly get back to u..

+1 to that.

BTW, inspite of all the speeds on Beam cable latency of the network sucks big time. I found online gaming and videos to be quite a pain.

Shifting my Airtel connection is not working out as planned. I have decided to cancel my connection. Are there any other good options for >= 2Mbps UL BB other than Beam Cable in Hyd.

Just to add, This will be a second connection. I will still have my sisters 384k Airtel connection to fallback on.

2mbps my recommendations:

Beam Telecom - 1k,50Gb FUP and then 786kbps

Spectranet - 1k, 100gb Fup and then 256kbps.

and the rest are bullshit!

I would highly recommend against Beam the quality sucks go for reliance wired broadband they have both 1 Mbps and 2 Mpbs unlimited plans.

Called up Beam cable yesterday and followed up 3 times today. Every time I was told that a sales rep would contact me within a few hours, but their sales rep didn't bother making a visit or even making a call. Not very hopeful about it at this point.

How is the Reliance Zoom2 2Mbps plan. What is the FUP and do they allow torrents? Also what is the kind of cabling they use for the connection ? Also want to know more about the spectranet plans.

Just to add, my area is is KPHB Colony

With Reliance there is no FUP its true unlimited connection they don't throttle torrents, they give connection via normal ADSL with phone and also via ethernet if you have the option of ethernet go for that but then you would not get a phone line.

Well I was the one who posted for Beam...So many ppl rushed for it ...that it has moved from Good to Bad to Worst ...Luckily I left Hyd...But still its better than BB available in B'lore

Was just checking, Reliance didn't even list a phone number on their website that I can call and apply for a new internet connection.

Called up Reliance and a guy showed up at my home within 10 min (that on a Sunday morning) to get me signed up for a new connection. Now that is fast. Will get the connection by tomorrow (hopefully). Going for the 2Mbps Zoom 2 2599/- plan.

If Beam cable is not even bothered to send me a sales rep to sign me up and get my money, I cannot even begin to imagine what the after sales service would be like after they take my money. No Thanks Beam, I want my connection in this lifetime.

Nemesis please update once your connection goes live, if you are going for 2599 plan I think it does not come with a phone so is it a ADSL connection or a direct Ethernet connection or do they give you some sort of other modem or device?

Also could you please do a speed test and let me know what is the upload speeds that you are getting.

I should get the connection tomorrow. Will update with speed test results. As the tech, I talked to the guy and it seems that they use UTP cable (The typical LAN/WAN cable) for the wiring into the house, but the tech itself still ADSL. I would get a Phone + Modem. This was the same sort of cabling that Airtel is also doing around here.
