Review Is the Nintendo Switch 2 a good buy for us Indians?

Been thinking of buying a switch 2 if it launches in india after a few months (imported ones will cost wayy too much at launch) but I'm unsure if there's a way to buy games for slightly cheaper or not, The exclusives seem pretty fun alongside backwards compatibility to switch 2, but i'm still not too sure.

Honestly, sounds like a tough sell. The original switch never officially launched in India, games are expensive and looks like this one would be even less moddable.

ah, that's fair. The launch retail price is currently 55k for the console and 60k for the bundle, absolutely not worth it. It costs 54k for the mario kart bundle with a case and screen protector in UAE

it costs as much as a PS5 plus u cant PS5 cheaper with offers right now. So PS5 is way better option you can get used game easily and library of games is way more compared to nintenods or u want portability then again rog ally or steam deck are way better options unless u are die hard Nintendo fan its hard to justify the price.

Switch 2 price in USA is around 38,000.

I have seen many reseller in WhatsApp group in India for around 55,0000.

Also do keep in mind switch /Nintendo never lower price that much compared to all other consoles makers

No console is worth it at launch. May be Xbox 360, PS3, Wii were, but nothing after that. I would wait for 2-3 years before considering it. Upgrade of previous generations are almost never worth it. They never wow you like you hope they would. Moreover, Nintendo has priced their console ridiculously. So, I wouldn't consider it. They were selling the previous console for $250. Now they have launched it for $550 for almost the same thing.

Not worth it right now due to high import pricing and less games.
If you really want to experience switch and Nintendo's ecosystem , go for switch oled or normal ones right now , they are prices somewhat alright with tons of games at disposal. There are some sellers who sell modded ones too if you like to customize your experience , overclock it , stream it and dump your own games and run them digitally.

It really depends on how much you personally value Nintendo first party titles. If you really like them so much that it justifies the price then it would probably be alright... but from a purely rational point of view I don't think you should (or anybody else in India). Although Nintendo games are truly one of a kind, their hardware is really not reliable as far as history has show me. The most infamous example being joycon drifting and I also remember their consoles having problems for which they needed to be sent for repair directly to nintendo. Not having official support in India means if anything happens to the hardware, even if the damage in covered within warranty, it won't get covered by that and possibly ruin your expensive investment.
My advice if you still want it, wait for the price to drop (which it probably won't anytime soon) or try to get second hand when possibly the OLED version launches as many will sell their old version for it (you will possibly have get it from some international second hand marketplace though)

For me Nintendo console is most reliable of all 3. even some decade old consoles work still fine. I agree though that joystick drifting is true as many have reported it...but that even ps5 and xbox series controllers have been having issues. I think they purposely make it little poor for the joysticks so that after year or 2 people go and buy a new controller and give them some more money.

agree.
Switch 2 toh sochna bhi nahi chahiya unless you are related to Adani/Ambani ( or some politician)...jokes aside... and even rationally like you said koi matlab nahi for now.

Just buy switch 1 for now modded wala and enjoy and when Switch 2 gets modded or cheaper and then enjoy more.
