Hello,

I need an advice from you all. A mobile phone shopkeeper (near my house) got a good looking Nokia C7 from someone he says, has only used it for about 6 months. I tried the piece and it looks good. Very minor scratches on the screen. Everything seemed to work well. I needed to buy a touchscreen mobile or tablet some time later which has WiFi and 3G.

Please advise whether the cost of 5,500/- is okay for the C7? Or how much would you pay? I checked Flipkart and the C7 is discontinued so maybe the shopkeeper is lying about the 6 months.

Kind Regards,
Casper

I have a C7 in my family. It was bought 2 or 3 years back. Still works fine. For that price it is a decent phone but I think there are better offerings if you increase your budget slightly.

It is a decent phone with good build quality. A friend of mine has it and she's been using it since the last 2 years now. If you're okay with the comparatively outdated hardware, EoL software and fixed focus camera, this should cut it for you. It has an AMOLED display and the touch screen quality is nice too. If it's in a good condition, I feel 5.5k is a fair price for it.

If you feel like going the Android way, you should perhaps take a look at the Micromax A89 which is available for around Rs. 6.2k.

C7 for 5.5k is good. Very nice screen and good sound quality. Looks premium too. But it is an old model now. You can get it if it fulfills your needs. Else you can get an android. Xolo A700 for 7.5k is a great phone.

I would suggest increasing your budget and buying android.. Why would you want to go with symbian.. There are good local and imported 2nd hand phones that you can get in your budget..

Why not ? Symbian still does things like multitasking , has basic apps, still symbian phones can make calls, play music, send receive SMS, use 3G and wifi. If it fits the OPs requirement then why to spend money on something which might deliver good battery life and slow and laggy experience (in some cases).

It depends on the op and his requirements.. If he needs a basic phone then C7 is good no doubt about it.. But for games and interface, etc. android is the way to go.. And he could get a decent one in his budget hence I pointed it out..
