Is there a good place to go in Chennai, just to have a good look at PC Hardware?

Hi all,

I'll be buying/assembling my own rig in the next couple of months and I've started reading up/researching over the Internet already!
Before I buy, I just need to have a personal look at a few components, namely Cabinet and Monitor.

I know the stores in Richie Street are so damn crowded and cramped... If you go to smaller stores, they are ready with service, but dont have the items in stock (they buy and resell to you) whereas the big stores dont have time to display and provide service...

Is there any place in Chennai that will let me have a look at a few different Cabinets and Monitors (kinda like a Chroma Store)?

You can take a look at the itdepot stores. They have quite a few things on display and hardly have any crowd. Look up at the website and see if they have the listing of things you need. Some of their product prices are over the roof. You can take a look, get a quote and then get if from somewhere else cheaper.

PS: Read an article today morning in the newspaper that crowds in ritchie st have reduced due to less people buying things as the state govt has increased vat from 4 to 14%

I see that IT Depot has showrooms in Thiruvanmiyur, Anna Nagar, Valasarawakkam and Nungambakkam... Which one's the best to view a lot?

Go to the one nearest you. I doubt they would be much different from each other.

I went to Tiruvanmiyur and Ispahani Center...

Tiruvanmiyur had a couple of guys who tried to sell me their website (as in, "Sir, everything you want is on our website, just give us name and we will fetch it for you")... After much cajoling, I told him I've seen your website, show me the products, and they showed me a few cabinet models... they had about 15 cabinets on display, mostly antec and a few high end CMs, no NZXTs (Sold out..) and a few base models... But decent guys, did not try to show off their knowledge of stuff... Good experience there

Ispahani center one is almost a dud... I went there because the Tvnmyr guys said that there was NZXT gamma for display here. Couple of highly disinterested salesmen. After a few minutes of me standing and staring at their faces, another guy came out, looked like a supervisor. He was much better, showed me a few cabinets. Overall satisfied with my tour...
