Hi everyone

Could anyone offer an advice on this deal. Is it worth going for and how is the router. I need a router that has a good range and performance. (To be used at home)

Buy Belkin F5D8236uk4 Wireless N Cable Router. at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for .

The above comes to be around 2675 bucks. BTW i recently went through lynx india site and they are selling the same for 2880 + delivery. I could not find any other N Wireless router to be in the same price range.

If it does not meet the performance requirements what other options should I look at considering a similar price point. Kindly give in some suggestions.

Cheers

You can get the same kind of routers from Belkin/D-Link/Linksys/Netgear/Buffalo/Bullion at about Rs.2000.

Are you sure? The above router supports N range connections as well.

If yes then kindly advice about the models and availability.

I have the exact same router.

Picked it up 5 months back for $60.

It does its job, which in my case is to provide good connectivity over a 800Sqft apartment. Walls here are kinda thinish though.. never had to reboot or reset it or anything since the first setup. No hassles basically.

Having said that, I'm sure you can now find N routers for cheaper.

Not sure about what is 'N'. I just purchased buffalo WHR-G54S for 2000 bucks in pune. I have kept it in almost corner at one end. It has good range and I can access internet from all over my 1200sqft flat.

Well for wifi router for usage in home a N wifi router is useful only if you other devices which can use the IEEE 802.11n standard otherwise it with devices which can use only G protocol (54 mbps) it woul behave like any normal router....

I absolutely understand the above point.

For extended range what other routers should I look at ?? (and n standard as well)
