note that the Sharp NetWalker PC-Z1 uses the i.MX515. The Sharp press release shows approximately 10 hours of battery operation using the JEITA standard.

The Sharp has a 5" lcd vs this 8" one, so probably this would last about 4.5 hrs? maybe more if the proccy speed is slowed down to 600MHz or so.

These tabs usually have a very cheap, low resolution resistive touch screen that would ruin the tablet experience!

If you need a tablet then the cheapest I would recommend is the Lenovo A1 for 15k. Spending a few bucks can get you a 1st gen Galaxy Tab 7.

oh ok. i need something to tide long power cuts of 8-10 hrs. i mean i wont be browsing 8 -10 hrs just 3-4 hrs in between to read some comics or log on to TE.

my max budget was 10k. can go max upto 13k. hows the MSI 135dxi netbook for around 12k. will put ubuntu on it if there's no windows starter edition installed with it.

or should i wait for the aakash pad? 3k only...

That MSI has only 3-cell battery, right. Go for something with a 6-cell battery. Should be ~13ish. For eg., Samsung N Series NP-NC108-A04IN Netbook: Flipkart.com: Compare, Review Samsung Netbook
