OC & Modding Is this CPU cooler good enough?

That was also i was thinking, liquid leaking on components. Also thanks man i will stick to air cooler then.. ryzen 5600 can be very power hungry when using pbo i hit over 100 watts, way above the capacity of the stock amd wraith stealth cooler. Now im running at -30 curve optimizer, 1x multiplier, 4.1ghz locked. It sustains all core 4.1ghz at 50-60 watts now just for the stock cooler to stay silent and cool. Not much performance penalty. But 4.7ghz gave a 2000+ r23 multicore boost although it didn't sustained on the longer test heat accumulated.. so technically im not even using the cpu's full potential.

Thanks bro, i will stick to air cooler for now. Also i don't have bigger budget at this moment.

I thought with liquid i could add the radiator at the top and fan as an exhaust, so it also work as additional case fan. But i didn't knew about the failure rates of air cooler..

My pc specs are,
R5 5600 non x, zotac 3060 12gb, 32gb gskill aegis 3200mhz ram, 1tb wd black sn770 on a cheapest Msi b550m-a pro. I bought this at 2024 December amazon sale.

Coming from a gaming laptop and igpu pc, the ryzen 5600 heats up pretty quicky when on load at the stock settings. Included wraith stealth is not good enough for this. My previous wraith stealth with my old 2200g, the heatsink was bigger/taller. But this one is tiny.

Here is a photo of my case,

Only thing thats bother me with current pc is noise. I have installed cheap antesports fan on my deepcool matrex 40 case, which costed me 1250rs for a pack of 3 pwm fans with 70cfm pressure. At the front i synced with vrm mosfet, and i set fan curve starting at 30°c to 55°c to max fan speed. My case current config is 1 rare fan, and 3 front panel fan for pulling air from outside.

So apart from cable management would you suggest me to make any change on the case too?

using an mATX case? The Arctic AG620 might be too large. Check cooler dimensions first—it's 164mm tall. If space is tight, consider something smaller like the Arctic Freezer 36 (159mm tall)

Arctic Freezer 36 Dimensions:
  • Height: 159 mm
  • Width: 126 mm
  • Depth: 80 mm
Deepcool AG620 Dimensions:
  • Height: 157 mm
  • Width: 130 mm
  • Depth: 102 mm
cooling performace of AG620 is lower by a degree or two as per "Gamers Nexus" review

EDIT: updated to DeepCool AG620 and I've updated the product dimensions as per the site

Yes its m-atx.. will a artic freezer 36will fit in this case bro i dont know exact dimensions of the case but i think there is good distance!
The Arctic Freezer 36 is a good choice for most CPUs with up to 200W TDP. It works well for mid-range to high-end processors. If you're overclocking, you might want a more powerful cooler.
Yes im interested in overclocking my motherboard vrm stays cool too so there is no motherboard bottleneck, only the cooler!

Those wires might be obstructing airflow coming from the intake fans so do some cable management by using zip ties.
And clean your cabinet interior and all fan blades every 3 months and you are good to go.
I think so there are dust filters in front & below the PSU. Clean them as well.

Yes bro i actually bought the fans few weeks ago and didnt bothered to cable manage because i didnt have zipties that time. But i will soon! The psu stays silent and not much dust accumulated there. Its not much dust but my bad china phone camera made it seem more dirty than normal. I will soon fully disassemble the pc and clean each bit of it and do a nice cable management. After buying the new air cooler!

Firstly it’s deepcool ag620.

Secondly it’s 157mm tall. https://www.deepcool.com/products/C...wer-CPU-Cooler-1851-1700-AM5/2024/15900.shtml

Ag620 is better than arctic 36

- also is that overclocking worth it like is it a need? ( like noise/power/temps to ratio )
how about keeping pc cabinet open. that is removing glass panel and other parts till you have a bigger budget. and if you are into overclocking then definitely waiting would be better.

im running a massive undervolt until i buy cooler (0.9mv@4.1ghz = 45-50 watts, avg gaming temp 60c), not much worth but also im planning to buy and keep the aircooler for future build or simple cpu upgrade to 5800x3d/5700x3d and ryzen boost itself when needed if there is enogh thermal headroom that is what i noticed when i allow the cpu to run at stock settings... case have a lot of positive air pressure now, so i may add 1 more exhaust fan later... at 95-105watts i gain 4.7ghz but it quickly heats up and clocks get lower as the stock wraith stealth overwhelmes.. i see some gains on gaming fps especially valorant (450-500fps) and fortnite (170-180fps) and nice boost to r23 multicore +2000

Sorry for the typo! I meant to say DeepCool AG620 and I've updated the cooler dimensions as per the site. Thanks for catching that!

But don't you think it might still be too thick and pose problems in an mATX case?
Not really, matx and atx have same width - 9.6 inches.
It fits perfectly fine in my atx cabinet. Would suggest @CasualGamer91 to check ram height though.
Tbh if you’re low on budget, AG620 is a great cooler. Can easily cool all x3d models.

Your Deepcool Matrrex 40 cabinet has CPU Cooler Height limit to 165mm.

Arctic Freezer 36 cooler height is 159mm. 6 years warranty.
Deepcool AG620 cooler height is 157mm. 1 year warranty.
So either of the coolers will fit comfortably with around 6-8mm of spare space left.

My Galax Rev.3 matx cabinet (sama Im pro clone) also has 165mm as max CPU cooler height and I am using Deepcool AK400 cooler height is 155mm. I have swapped the default Deepcool single 120mm fan with 2 Arctic P12 PWM PST 120mm fans in push-pull setup using a y splitter for the fans connecting it to the CPU fan header on the Mobo. I bought this AK400 from a fellow TE member in 2022 costing me 1.8k and coupled it with 2 Arctic P12 PWM PST 120mm fans costing me 1.2k so 3k total. These fans are full black non RGB ones.

My 5600x never crosses 70 degrees even under gaming for 3-4 hours or browsing & watching movies for 6:hours and since 1 month I also have underclocked it with what ever bare minimum option I have on my A520M Mobo as it does not have more options like in any B550 Mobo either to overclock or underclock like curve optimiser options as such. I also disabled C States because in the bios because it was causing BSODs and freezes.

1) Look at Eco mode for cpu. This will reduce power usage. There will be slight perf drop, but it should be fine esp for gaming there shouldnt be impact.
The last bits of performance take disproportionate amount of power.
2) Else set your own power limits, along with core optimizer, we should be able to find a sweet spot within minimal perf loss.

You can also set temperature limits. I use temp limit + undervolt on 7800x3d and get slightly faster than stock speeds and cooler temps.

Just search for '5600x eco mode'

its a heatsinkless ram gskill aegis, that is also i thought if it gets in the way of ram or not...
Heatsinkless ram means either Arctic Freezer 36 or Deepcool AG620 will perfectly fit without being instructed by the ram.
Even Deepcool Assassin 4 cooler will fit in your case without being instructed by your ram.
Since there are no moving parts on the cooler block but only the fans has hydro bearings you will be able run either of them but regarding 6 years Vs 1 year warranty means in case in future if fans might not work then you will have opportunity to RMA them.
Nowadays any good 1 PWM 120mm fan is costing Rs.800 and I prefer Arctic PWM fans( because warranty is 6 years) over any others. Deepcool PWM 120mm fan comes for even Rs.500 each.( Warranty is 1 year)
So decide for yourself. It's like Arctic is Mercedes Benz while Deepcool is Maruti Suzuki as both are great in their own way but only difference is their warranty.

my personal tuning is best as i have did a lot of testing to extract as much performance per watts possible..the eco mode inside pbo is just a fancy tdp limit (45watts), which indeed drop performance and r23 score to 4 digit number, below 9k, with my tuning it stays at 45-50watts in gaming, benchmark multicore 50-60watts, r23 10800~, stock 77watts: 11.5k+ (run hotter than my liking), and pbo tuning oc: 13k+ (not for long because bad temp). My tuning never goes above 75c temp and it sustains the boost as much as cpu wants at 4.1ghz r23 and octt stability test.. i have a wall wattage meter.. my whole system at gaming including monitor eats 180watts.. I mainly play valorant and fortnite where fps stays above my monitor max refresh rate 180hz @ 1440p. But i have seen the OC does boost game fps too by atleast 10%, before thermal limit hits.

I personally think the arctic one would take less space and 6 year warranty is a plus. also coolermaster one and arctic non rgb black varient cost same while coolermaster having more thermal mass. What if i buy the coolermaster and buy arctic fans later? but doing so fans might touch the ram or simply not fit?

The fans on DeepCool AG620 are better than those on Arctic 36 spec wise. Also, another point of comparison is 4 heat pipes single tower on Arctic vs 6 heatpipes dual tower on Ag620.

Check some reviews @CasualGamer91

Deepcool was banned in US since Nov,24.
Its possible that because of this, deepcool products are cheaper ? I bought AG620 for 4.5k+. Its now 3.4k, seems like very good for the money if space is not an issue.

You can try finding deepcool AK500 air cooler....it supports upto 240w tdp processors but comes with single fan.

AG620 is cheaper at 3k in this store and that is better than AK500. I think AG400 or AG620 seem like best options, AG620 is probably overkill.
AK ones might look a bit better, dunno but should be similar to AG in perf.

Is this copper heatpipe on the ag620? Not much review about the ag, there's for the ak series.
