Guys my monitor is not even a month old. After cleaing the monitor properly suddenly yesterday i noticed something which i failed to notice before.:(

Though it is difficult to describe it in words but still i will try.Kindly read every line throughly

A bit above the center of the screen towards the right hand side a single minute dot is present which was giving a kind of fade glow from the rest of the screen against a white back ground.(it was giving an impression like some dust is present or a very minute droplet of liquid is there on that part of the screen)

When looked closely it was giving some fade pinkish light.

Against red, blue or green background it gives a fade dull black light.

But when the screen is looked from a certain angle NOTHING can be observed in any background.I mean no such anomaly can be found.

Against a black background nothing can be found.(Even if looked from different angles)

Against a white background it is a bit difficult to spot until and unless you are throughly searching for it.But on a red or blue background it can be found easily.

I tried various stuck pixel removing methods for about 2hrs but nothing solved it.:(

I am really disturbed due to this dont know what to do.:(
The make is benq and the vendor from where i have purchased is a bit far. Therefore i was wondering what can be done.

Your suggestions and solutions are most welcome.

Tried degaussing? If it doesn't works after that, then for sure its a faulty piece.

^^yes there is on the back of it.distance around 25cms. But i think that is only restricted to CRT ones how come they can affect a lcd?

^^how to do that?

In menu, there will be an option "Deaguss", just click/select it once, your monitor will flash & restart once. Is solves mostly color imbalance issues. But by your problem explanation, it seems more like dead pixel issue rather than some color imbalance/defect. Get it checked with the vendor you've brought from and get it RMA'd if your problem persists.

Is there a TV or Speaker or any kind of magnet etc near your monitor?

AFAIK speakers aren't responsible for dead pixels. They just cause decoloration problem, especially in CRTs. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

er...sorry my mistake no there is no such option and btw its a lcd how do you expect a degauss here.sorry if i am wrong.

Actually even I was also not sure if this option was available in LCDs :ashamed:

It sounds like a stuck pixel. One of the sub-pixels must not be functioning.

Against a black background, it is possible for nothing to show as some stuck pixels can show black. (i.e., all 3 sub-pixels off).

Some BenQ monitors have a 0 dead pixel guarantee, but 0 a stuck pixel guarantee is rare.

I know it is a bit off putting on a new monitor, but you will stop noticing it in a while. (I know I did for my old BenQ monitor.) Of course, some stuck pixels just fix themselves after some use, so if you are lucky, that could happen.

^^Thanks but you know how is it though it is rarely visible. But now on almost whenever there is a complete blue or red background my eyes automatically gets fixed on that part and finds the damn thing.:(.Against a white background as i have mentioned its more tough to find.
Btw how long can it take to recover. i applied the pressure method etc etc for 2+hrs but nothing happened. Now i am really sad about this.:(

No way to say, unfortunately. Could be a day, a month or even never.

If the pressure method did not work even after 2 hours, it won't work. Have you tried the other method of a video with flashing colours played where the stuck pixel is?

like i mentioned i applied almost all the methods for about 2hrs.Pressure method around 30 mins.Is there even a slightest chance of getting a replacement for this as even 1 month is not completed.

use this to identify whether it is a dead pixel or not.

Can you post a pic of the monitor from a decent cam which shows the affected area clearly?

Regarding replacement, most manufacturers have a replacement policy which includes dead pixels faults. Only Dell's Ultrasharp series have a zero dead pixel guarantee, means they will replace the monitor if there is even a single dead pixel. Most other brands have varying number ranging from 5 to 20 ish. Some even differentiate between the location of the dead pixel where pixels on the screen edge are give less priority. Check your product manual or the manufacturer website to understand their replacement policy.

Mate, leave it as you will not 'mostly' get a replacement either from your vendor or BenQ. For dead pixel or stuck ones, usually the policy is that if there are 3 within a square inch OR 6/7 of them in your monitor, you will get a newer piece.

For now, the only solution is the pressure method, it worked brilliantly with my laptop LCD.

You may be in luck! If your dead pixel appears in the centre area of the LCD, then give it for RMA. According to this page here :

2. No defective pixels in the central area of the LCD panel. The central area of the BenQ LCD panel is measured from the centre of the LCD panel, occupying an area with the radius of ONE-THIRD (1/3) of the space between the centre of the panel to the outer edge of the panel.

^^But if present within the center of the radius i mean something like that mentioned over there.

This is benq's warranty page BenQ India | Support - Warranty and Policy - Information

as for pictures i will try but here is a demo picture showing the location.

Its not in the central area, mate. I think you are out of luck.

The circle is approx the central area.
