In actual real world usage as a secondary/game drive, nope. But if there will be repeated writes, or for use as boot drive, always go for a DRAM SSD.

i went with 1tb wd sn570.
i think there was one 970 evo, but samsung recently had some issues with this lineup so i skipped it.
considering i had a sata 256gb m2 ssd since the last 3 year, i think this would be a big improvement.

SN570 eyes closed because even in worst circumstances its write speeds won't go down below 500MB/s while P3 speeds can drop to hdd level 100MB/s write speeds under worst circumstances. Also, P3 & P3 Plus are basically same with only difference being P3 Plus is Gen4(aka pcie v4.0) while P3 is gen3.
@awestorr 970 evo plus has no firmware issue which affected samsung 980 pro/990 pro/870 evo but 970 evo plus runs hot(even hotter than usual for typical NVMe ssd) so not prefereable for laptops/pc cases with restricted/avg air flow else it is quite good for a typical user even if old model.

UPDATE-
Does using a dramless ssd as an boot ssd, decrease its lifespan?
asking because today i checked my ssd"s health on crystaldisk and its showing 73%
after around 3 years of use.
Is this normal?
