Hey guys

Today i installed a G31 Intel Mobo

Everything went super smooth

i changed the thermal paste i applied AC MX2 REseated the HS and everything

I just wanna know whether these Temps are allrgiht

The first screen shot was take while the CPU was on load

the second one was taken when it was on idle

DO i need to reapply the MX-2 and reseat the HS again?

^ ya mate, i think something is wrong with the HSF, remove and reset it.

The temps are way too high in winter.

Are you on stock HSF

Edit: Also check the temps using real temps, that is know for its accuracy

^^ Sire, are their no other fans in your system OR non of them support PWM?

Either ways, how much TIM did you apply? I think you might have over-applied there by deteriorating the heat dissipation from the CPU heat-sink to the Heat-Sink-Fan seated above it.

Here is a guide on how to apply TIM, just in case this is your first attempt at this operation --> http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2009/02/16/all-about-tim/4.

Hope this helps, Sire. Cheers!!

I think SpeedFan is also a decent software for checking all the collective temperatures of a system [it reads and detects all the sensors].

I think OP is on the stock HSF. We'll soon find out for sure.

^ ya mate speedfan is good, but after reading a lot on net about real temp, i prefer that, not against speedfan either

^^ True always better to have a second opinion, Real Temp sadly is only supported by Intel CPU-chips, so AMD is left high and dry [OR use a motley crew of other softwares].

Guys iam attaching a screenshot with all the temp utilities i know

DO i still need to reapply the gunk if so how much should i apply?

^ sadly yes

First check your fan, at this speed, the RPM of the fan should be higher.

For how to apply TIM : follow the link posted by ALPHA17

Just a tiny drop is all thats needed.

But looking at the temps it doesn't look like an issue with the TIM but more like the heat-sink is not seated properly.

^ there is chance that, you have applied much TIM, actually you had to apply a thin even layer.

Ok i have re applied the TIM reseated the HS it is Firm as hell still iam only seeing a degree drop also the proccy is 4 years old

^^ There might be options for that in the BIOS itself, go into that and change fan speed to manual if possible.

Noep there is no such settings in the bios cant i do it through the OS?

Using speed fan also how fast should my fan be can anyone gimme numbers

^^ No exact numbers can be given Sire, sadly.

Hmmm... I'll do a little digging around and find out if any software can control fan speed from the OS itself. Cheers!!
