Looks good but pointless as a NAS cos it supports NTFS as read only. I'd be pretty worried about support/ warranty etc. too.

Do you need a network HD player? If not, why not the WD player?

The current price of WD HDTV media player in India (from Champion) is Rs 6500+12.5% VAT. Amarbir retails for Rs 6400+12.5% VAT.

i want something by which movies on my Download rig can easily be seen on a TV without hassle..

and its half of WDs cost

No hassles means, proper support by the manufacturer (firmware updates etc.) and solid warranty. Get the WD.

Get WD, get a custom firmware, and then use a recomended usb lan to connect to your network

You can also try wireless dongle but the list of supported dongles is very short..

Besides that, WD is a hassle free player from what i have read..Im planing to buy one as soon as i have an hdtv
