Is web browsing free thru WIFI? Yesterday i was in mall and there was WIFI network,so i connected to internet but after browsing my bal. came down to minus and got deducted.
So my ques is i have airtel broadband with WIFI router so will it be free browsing when i connect it N95 wifi.

If you were connected to the WiFi signal it shouldnt have deducted your balance. I think you actually ended up browsing on the regular gprs :S

Anyway- Yes. If you are browsing using a WiFi network it should be free (as in not charged by your mobile service provider) and should not have anything to do with the mobile network :)

i havent got GPRS ACTIVATED BUT IY SAID wifi network found so i clicked it and connected thru vodafone live.

hmmm but then why it said wifi found? i clicked on it and it send me too VL thru which got connected to internet.

I havnt got HUTCH ACCESS activated so how can i connect thru GPRS?

If you are browsing through WIFI then it shouldn't deduct your phone balance because you use the Internet via Wireless router and the owner of that router + internet connection should pay bill...

You got access of normal GPRS :bleh:

ok strange.

So if i have airtel broadband so it should be free surfing on mobile thru wifi router.

are there any settings for the router to connect to phone?

I had same experience wid my n95, when wifi signals are weak, connection automatically switches to vodafone live!:@

to clarify here

GPRS is pre activated for EVERYBODY in the country as they have chopped off the monthly rentals a few months ago so its pay as much as u use

and Vodafone live is gprs fyi

wifi would be anything but those signals that start wit the operator name :P
