It's exactly the processor i have & the review is more in line with what i expected. It doesn't do too bad but it is starting to show it's age as well.
New games still have some way to go to maximise the higher number of cores on new processors. All in all, it really depends on the current setup and the value for money. The way i see it, it's been a good 4 years spent with the C2D E8400, but for the features available today like SATA 3 etc.. you need a platform change (mobo+ram)... that as usual is always the crux. The trinity (mobo+cpu+ram) have to be changed together.
